its hard to say it wasnt "good" but the big game breaker was how hard it was to find the one random piece hidden in a tiny slot you wouldnt see, unless you use hints. i recommend playing house of davinci 3 as its much more intuitive

Compared to the first part it's definitively getting better. The controls are working fine now and the mouse cursor changes if you can zoom in on a place you are facing. The hints are now sometimes actually helpful, but they tell you things that should be mentioned anyways (like connect all the dots, not only enough to go from start to end visiting every picture, etc). It seems inspired by The Room, with many more complex machinations, instead of searching through entire rooms for buttons, which is good. A lot more story, at first rather complicated but it is explained later (sometimes maybe too much story? An 8 minutes video, wow) I could as well recommend the game as not, it is ok, and still beautiful. But the 91% positive reviews left me expecting much more, so I'd rather counteract that a bit.

Big improvement over the first. The first House of Da Vinci game doesn't compare favourably to almost any entry in the Room series, but this one happily stands amongst them as a peer. Visuals are improved; it's no longer so dark you can't see WTF you're doing half the time and the lens is much less obstructive. There are still a couple of puzzles where the link between elements is kinda weak and there's a bit of hunting around using your cursor to find other interactible elements, but much less than before. There's also the occasional awkward camera angle when you're trying to access something behind another object, but overall the user experience is absolutely fine. The hint system remains painful at times. While I appreciate some people only want the vaguest of directions to get them back on track, it can be very frustrating to be forced to wait to click through the first one or two before finally getting something helpful - if it ever is. There were definitely a couple of t...

Some good puzzles but awful camera/movement controls make this difficult to recommend. Story is also a mess and that ending clip is an embarrassment. Also, forcing players to watch the credits at the end is not welcomed at all.

This game nails the mix of challenge and enjoyment. The puzzles are smart and really rewarding to solve, and the environments are beautifully crafted. It also adds some cool mechanics that keep things fresh throughout. If you're into thoughtful, immersive puzzle games, this one’s definitely worth your time.
Lots of interesting puzzles.
The graphics, animations and sound effects are well done. Some of the voice acting is terrible. What's with the 3 stupid speed-run achievements !!!! I did 2 playthroughs to get all the achievements and had to use a guide on occasion. Some of the puzzles are unclear what has to be done.
