About This Game

As a member of the SENTRY Defense Program, you have been thawed from stasis to protect your vessel as it flees across space.

As you choose your escape route in the Navigator, encounters with alien vessels are unavoidable. They will board your ship and attempt to fight their way through different subsystems to destroy the Core.

Your SENTRY must thwart the enemy by bringing to bear an arsenal of potent ranged weaponry. Even with the best shooting abilities, holding back the hordes is only possible by deploying traps and turrets - and if all else fails, utilizing environmental destruction to stem their advance; a well-timed shot could vent aliens into space, a closed blast door could buy you time to set up new defenses.

SENTRY features a singleplayer campaign with the option to have an online friend fighting alongside you in co-op.

Should your SENTRY fall in battle, death is not the end. Another member of the crew will be thawed from stasis by the SENTRY Defense Program, ready to continue the fight.

Even if you fail to defend a level, defeat only changes the strategic landscape in the Ship Overview, forcing you to make new decisions on where to make your next defiant stand.

As long as there is a surviving SENTRY and the Core remains operational, your skills in combat mean victory can always be grasped from the jaws of defeat.

SENTRY aims to carve out its own path in the Action-Defense genre by featuring a campaign where your choices and performance matter. Battles are not one-off events, defeat doesn’t mean replaying a checkpoint. Everything feeds into the ongoing battle for your ship’s survival.

A SENTRY is fast, responsive - and therefore powerful. Deployable traps, turrets and environmental destruction opportunities are needed to supplement this power when facing near-overwhelming forces of reactive and aggressive enemies. Successful escapes will need to utilize a mixture of skill and planning, with discovery and upgrading of new equipment providing an edge in combat.

Combining all these elements evokes the feeling of being a beleaguered and outnumbered SENTRY. On the journey you may lose battles, but you can win the war.

First things, first, I have come to realize that I am a casual gamer, and not as good as I once believed I was. For me, this game is VERY hard (I played solo so far), and stressful, especially without leveled weapons. I dread certain ships and certain enemies (I hate dogs and bugs, because I can't hit the darn things, and the zombie things just laugh at my bullets and walk through the door.) I am glad they reduced the hazard-stacking, but certain hazards remain highly feared (instant action). Overall, a game that deceived me into thinking it was innocent and easy, but is now having me not wanting to leave my sentry pod, clutching my pistol to my chest. I love the simplistic style and designs. I love the weaponry, and the FPS aspects feel good and smooth. I'm still finding new weapons and enemies, which is pleasant too. I like how the maps are randomized on your ship each game, but consistent within each playthrough, and that you are given time to just walk around and enjoy the dev's w...

This is a really solid game. The gun-play is good, and the mechanics as is are engaging enough to hold my attention. The criticisms I do have are being addressed with each update, and overall I like the direction the developers are taking the game in. There is a good deal of internal design tension, for lack of a better term, currently present, as the different systems don't quite perfectly mesh yet. For example, the different maps being physical locations on the ship is super cool, and leads to interesting decisions on where to fight, but it simultaneously typically results in funneling the player into the same couple of maps many times in a row, especially towards the end of a run where individual matches tend to take longer. There are a bunch of small conflicts like that between various systems, ranging from meta-progression, to run progression, to mission progression that make what could be a really amazing experience into a merely good one. That said, even if this was a full rel...

It's good! I hope devs continue to add more content as well. My favorite devices without a doubt are the turrets, like the shotgun and machine gun turrets. A sniper turret would be pretty cool too. The alien space marine enemy's are formidable, with their grenades and plasma shotguns. They are my favorite to fight. The weapons are cool, a magnum revolver would be a sweet addition, but there is good variety of ARs, shotguns, and snipers. Overall, looking forward to what comes next but it's enjoyable how it is right now.

Its certainly no Sanctum 2. Sentry does a lot of things well, and likely is a ton of fun in co-op - but solo, the odds are strongly stacked against you. Starting from your loadout, to the map design, you will be hard pressed as a solo player to persist through some maps. Your loadout is randomly chosen at the start of each campaign from a list of unlocked gear and deployables. You can pay some of your initial resources to unlock other items, but you can also just restart the campaign, so why is this a thing? The initial deployables are going to force a majority of the work on you, and when you regularly have to cover multiple angles of attack this means most of your fights will take place at the exit. The maps are cramped and valid placements for your towers are sporadic at best. As all fights thus devolve into a deathgrip at the exit, a single death or untimely ammo fiasco and you've lost a number of lives - if not the stage entirely. You have limited ammo, which you can recover from...

Resume: Yep the game is a good Trap defence/shooter in the spirit of Orc Must Die (1 & 2) with good shooting element. If you want to know it's around 40% trap power and 60% shooter/active choice to make (from the dev themself). Lot's of weapons and traps at the moments and active/passive . One of the rare game where I don't put my music, the shooting is good, the animations are good, the menus and interface are visualy easily identify and good looking. It feel just right. Game will receive more ship roguelike element, perk, level up, weapons, traps ect... More balanced Co op but duable Solo after unlocking turrent. The dev are super active, helps players and have the vision of what a fun game is. Conclusion: If you liked Orc MD you will love this one too. And if you like the shooter aspect a little more. Haven't play coop, 2 is enjoyable and balanced from what I read, I guess 4 is planned. Solo is a bit challenging. A game to keep in touch, I think around 25-30 € price with ful...
