CYGNI: All Guns Blazing Looks beautiful. Great sound when your gunship is blasting away. Playing first Stage / Level was fun in the begining but after awhile OMFG will this stage ever end!? None stop throwing enemy drones at me as cannon fodder same enemy over and over again. I just couldnt take it anymore it was boring asf! and tedious. Damn shame because could have been great! Stages needs to be shorter with more variations of enemies.

Got it on a Daily Deal for over 90% off (plus extra 10% for bundle because I already had Gradius Origins) so for a $2.69 game I'm being more forgiving, but based on my initial experience I lean towards no. Great graphics and sounds alone do not make a great game, and despite my gaming laptop exceeding recommended specs I have to set the quality to medium or lower to get a decent frame rate in-game otherwise it stutters horribly after the opening cutscene. The gameplay is just way too complicated at first, it's more RPG-like than bullet hell shooter. Maybe worth a look if it's on a good sale like the 90% off daily deal but unfortunately it's not Cave bullet hell in terms of gameplay. If you want simple crazy shooting this isn't your game, but if you can be patient and handle the high difficulty level maybe you'll get something out of it. I'll stick with it for now as it's not worth asking for my $2.69 back
(for true bullet hell masochists only) honestly.. i feel almost obligated to say "NO" beautiful level and model designs decently fun (ish) boss fight (i loved how they actually FELT massive from the perspective) but ultimately its --very short (a lot of my 3.9 hrs was spent constantly retrying the FIRST level on medium til i gave up and ran the whole thing on easy (slower enemies, slower and FEWER bullets, no collision dmg from enemy shields or proximity lines and + 3 lives... while medium {normal} is one and done) did end up using one of those extra lives on a certain boss but only once... even on easy -- there are VERY few upgrades (may as well be the default effect of what you start with its so few) and no "modifications"... gun "design" is simply re-calibrating where the weapon is aiming by default and cant even be done til you complete all 7 levels (and honestly.. rather then even creating this confusing system it would of just been better to have completely free aim instead o...
Very fun and beautiful leveling design of a arcade ship shooter...
Classic shmup gameplay in a slick Unreal 5 graphical presentation. --- This reminds me of older bullet hell shoot-em-up's from the 90's era. Games like Einhänder and Lords of Thunder. Simple in concept but providing a visual feast along with a punchy soundtrack. No deep story or lore, just the basic you against the swarm to save humanity in wave after wave of alien insanity. Unlike most modern shmups that still use the more traditional pixel art; this pushes the boundary graphically almost too much. You can easily be overwhelmed with the intensity and visual presentation, making it unnaturally difficult to navigate or quickly discern the difference between aerial and ground enemies. The sound track is enjoyable, thankfully, since you will be listening to the same tracks quite a bit as you repeatedly bang your head doing replay to learn each new mission and make progress. The controls can be a bit overwhelming at first; with toggles for powering offense/defense, homing weapons, loc...
1. game optimization - it's terrible. 2. training - terrible. 3. game design - terrible. there are just a lot of things here. a) it's impossible to understand what's attacking you. there are just dozens of enemies on the screen, hundreds of flying projectiles, balls, sticks, effects. there is no clear understanding of where it's better for you to be at the moment, because the entire screen is strewn with this glowing garland. b) terrible solution - the same points are spent on missiles, you either spend these same points on strengthening weapons or strengthening life. that is, in the end you have a minimum of life points and 0 weapon points and are super weak. nonsense. c) terrible solution for homing ground weapons, it works and then doesn't. d) balance. you hammer some ordinary ground enemies for a minute - this is complete nonsense. and there are several of them on the screen. d) terrible ship upgrade menu - nothing is clear. d) no checkpoints d) on easy difficulty - you are simply...
Sorry, Konami, I don't want to play a shoot'em up game at 30 fps on my steam deck. For instance Jets'n'guns 2 easily runs at 90 fps with much better visuals.
CYGNI: All Guns Blazing is an exhilarating space shooter that combines frenetic action with tactical depth, offering players a thrilling ride through beautifully rendered cosmic environments. It’s a game that will appeal to fans of classic shoot ’em ups as well as those who enjoy strategic planning and fleet management in a sci-fi setting. At its heart, CYGNI: All Guns Blazing is about piloting a heavily armed spaceship through a series of challenging levels filled with waves of enemies, massive boss fights, and environmental hazards. The gameplay is smooth and responsive, with tight controls that allow for precise maneuvers, dodging enemy fire, and unleashing devastating counterattacks. The combat is fast-paced and requires quick reflexes, but it also rewards careful planning since positioning and weapon loadouts play a significant role in your survival. Each encounter demands players to adapt to different enemy behaviors and environmental challenges, keeping the gameplay fresh a...
Saw all the negative reviews waited until it was at -90% to buy and try despite. It's not even worth my 2.99 EUR I really wanted to like this. Whoever came up with this has no idea about shmups
Looks fabulous, and I'd love to get to know it better. BUT. * Dreadful tutorial that looks nothing like the actual game and explains things _extremely_ badly. * Screen is complete chaos, can't see anything. * Ship moves far too fast, even on the slowest speed, which makes it practically impossible to dodge bullets because the slightest nudge sends you into another one. * Levels far too long, if you're going to tie skill progression to game progress it needs to be in shorter stages. * Ludicrously difficult even on the first level on Easy mode. Basically, this game is a textbook example of why no-one new plays shmups any more. They're so tailored to the diehard fans with the reactions of a snake that they just don't appeal to anyone else.
