About the Game

THE CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED FANTASY ACTION RPG
Rise, Tarnished, and be guided by grace to brandish the power of the Elden Ring.

• A Breathtaking World Full of Excitement and Mystery

The Lands Between are part of a vast continent where magnificent open fields and huge dungeons with complex and three-dimensional designs are seamlessly connected. As you explore, the joy of discovering unknown and overwhelming threats awaits you.
Mastery of the terrain and knowledge of its secrets can help you overcome enemies and defeat formidable bosses or lead invading players into traps.

• Defeat Challenging Foes in Intense Combat

Combat in ELDEN RING is simple to learn yet offers hidden depths of mastery. As you seek to become the Elden Lord, you’ll need to explore the balance between attacking and avoiding damage, use a wide variety of weapons, spells, & summons, and perfect your timing to take advantage of your opponents’ weaknesses.

• Create and Build Your Own Character

In addition to customizing the appearance of your character, there are countless ways to combine the weapons, armor, usable items, and magic that you equip. You can develop your character according to your play style.
No matter if you prefer bold physical confrontation, tactical spellcasting, or the subtle art of stealth, you’ll be able to find gear that supports your choices.

• An Epic Drama Born from a Myth Created by George R.R. Martin

The founding mythology of Elden Ring was written by George R. R. Martin and adapted into a rich multilayered story. Intersecting goals and desires between the characters create an intense narrative that weaves throughout the Lands Between. The events of the game can unravel in many ways, depending on your interventions.

• Play Alongside a Massive Worldwide Community

The Tarnished community is massive and active. Your friends may already be among them. You can play with up to two other Tarnished as your cooperative teammates, either by inviting them using a shared password or by summoning them from a pool of nearby community members.
There are also ample opportunities to face off against other players, either through co-op invasions, invited duels, or the many player battle options available in the three Colosseums.

Rating: F*** you, FromSoftware! (10/10) This game is like: you start all cocky, thinking you’re the chosen hero, and then a 20-foot demon horse called Tree Sentinel shoves its spear straight where the sun doesn’t shine in three seconds. When, driven by survival instinct, you decide to quit the fight to try and get stronger, that damn game drops a dragon from the sky to end your life. The only good part? At least you get a hug from a beautiful woman. Verdict: Hard as hell, unfair… but the best thing I’ve ever played. Recommended.

I want to start this review by saying I don't hate elden ring, i've played through the game plenty of times, unmodded, modded, challenges, etc, and i've had my fair share of fun (at times) throughout my time with this game. However, Elden ring has introduced some new issues to the fromsoft series that, at least for me, are too significant for me to ignore as a long-time fan of their games. For starters, i would like to talk about what Elden ring did well. Elden ring marked the first souls/souls adjacent game to shift to a full open-world format, allowing the player much more freedom than their other games. Elden ring also introduced a ton of incredibly helpful new combat mechanics like the return of powerstancing, guard counters, a dedicated jump button, and multiple new weapon types. However, all of these new features came with their fair share of issues. Powerstancing is more limited than what it was in ds2 (and I'm not someone who will tell you that was a good game, m...

Would actually be fun if it stopped constantly peppering the player with cheap shots, and sometimes it does stop. It's also as vague and poorly communicated as humanly possible so that the only way you'll understand some of the most fundamentally important mechanics in the game are wiki-crawling or spending dozens of hours on rote trial and error. Ignore the reddit hivemind trying to gaslight people into thinking this is a perfect experience. I got 'good'. I understood the design language, parried and dodged bosses, beat Malenia, Elden Beast, Maliketh, etc with a melee strength build and a colossal weapon. There's potential here but it squanders those possibilities so it can pretend that it's difficult with unintuitive memorization-based gameplay, boss combos that cannot be interrupted even during extended pauses with badly telegraphed switch-ups and lackluster RPG mechanics. You can tell a lot about a game's design by examining where the most effective tactics leave you, and t...

I had heard this was the Soulsborne for beginners. That belief was very wrong, I can't get past this stupid boss called "Soldier of Godrick" in the starting area. I will never touch another Soulsborne and instead play great games like Raid: Shadow Legends, were I actually get a chance to enjoy the limitless hours of fun and engaging gameplay.

I really enjoyed playing Elden Ring because it felt like an adventure where I was free to explore at my own pace. The world is huge and full of surprises—sometimes I’d stumble into a hidden dungeon, other times I’d just stop to admire the view of the Erdtree. The combat is tough, and I died a lot, but beating bosses like Godrick or Malenia gave me a real sense of achievement. The story is mysterious, and while not everything is explained directly, characters like Melina, Ranni, and Nepheli made the journey feel meaningful. What I loved most is that the game never forced me to follow a strict path—I could go anywhere and make my own choices. For me, Elden Ring isn’t just a game, it’s an unforgettable experience that kept me hooked from start to finish.

Finally giving this a proper go after buying it back in 2022. It's unforgiving as hell and I've wanted to break a controller more than once, but this is close to being my favourite game. Only thing that really irritates me about this game is that its capped at 60 FPS.

Do not use a walk through on your first play through. I made the mistake of doing this for the first few areas in fear of missing key items, etc. It ruins your experience, thankfully I stopped and started playing the game blindly and that's when the game really shined. There are instances where you will have to look up where to go next as the open world can be very daunting and not always clearly indicate where to travel to next, however that's an easy work around for a masterpiece of a game. The level of detail is super impressive, the mystery of the world keeps you engaged and wanting to discover more. Ya there are some bullshit deaths you'll have to go through, but it wouldn't be a souls game without that. I have about 50hrs of actual gameplay and just past half way through the content (I'm a completionist so I try to clear areas before moving on). Looking forward to one day beating this game.
