Highly recommend this game if you want to scratch the Stardew Valley itch, though it is unique enough as well! The co-op works very smoothly

Note: This review doesn’t cover any online co-op gameplay. Farming sim in prehistoric setting. Given that woolly mammoths are in the game and they went extinct around 4,000 years ago, the setting would be even older than that. Anyway, the protagonist is adopted by the Pachan people and is immediately recognized as special when they receive the Pacha Tree as their spiritual totem. It is their destiny to bring the Pachan people to prosperity and bring peace among the other tribes. Information • Key bindings can be changed. (Yay, for the left-handed.) • Day duration can be set to 15 minutes, 17.5 minutes, or 20 minutes. • In character customization, there are 3 body types: muscular/masculine, curvy/feminine, and average/androgynous. • Gameplay involves: farming, gathering, mining, wood chopping, fishing, crafting, cooking, animal taming/befriending, animal breeding, socializing NPCs & gift giving, cave puzzles, and festival events. My wife and I play this game together and I must say its great. Somewhat reminiscent of another very popular farm sim but unique in its own way. I can see us putting a lot of hours into this one.
Great game! I'm big into farming sims. Love the flavor of this one. Garrek is such a sweetheart.
Many farming sims these days feel like a cheap reskin of Stardew Valley meant to cash in on the current popularity of farming sims/cozy games, but Roots of Pacha isn't one of them! The plot is an endearing journey of mending mistakes made in both the past and the future, giving a warm reminder that every action in the present is relevant and ripples out to impact others across time and distance. The theme makes Roots of Pacha memorable and the gameplay remembers to tie into it in meaningful ways. In a pre-currency world, you don't sell items for monetary reward. Instead you earn community points that advance the development of your village, lead to new innovations in crafting, and spill over into credit you can spend within the community. In outside communities you barter/exchange goods. The initial plants you gain will become domesticated over time and animals have to be tamed, a late stage plot twist allowing you to evolve both into more modern variants. The art is very polished an...
It's a cute game, I've spent hours in it and would gladly spend more. It takes a while to compelte, and if you're going for completionist, ALOT longer. The new update is very interesting and expands nicely with the lore. End game after the update is a diffrent story, at least for me. If you haven't almost exclusively focused on both agriculture and farm animals it's gonna be a long grind. Needing x amount of the highest quality for alot of plants and anima drops feels very excessive. I finally got a steady income and most of my things upgreaded and build extra breeding pens to speed up the process. But having nothing to spend all the money on and just going to bed early every day just waiting for the animals to breed made me lose the motivation to get the very last part of the lore. Do recommend though, but to avoid the end game grind do some planning and research on the items you'll need
honestly this is the best farming sim i've played. at first, i struggled to get into it because i was used to stardew valley and expected this to be the same. without giving spoilers, once you actually start to get a little further into the game, it really blooms into something unique and beautiful. i *really* love this game
A very cute cozy game on par with Stardew Valley. Takes a while to get going but I loved how the villagers would help come up with ideas - it made it feel like I wasn't the only one developing the village. All the villagers have great stories and there are lots of interesting romanceable characters. Progression is slow but satisfying. It also has 4 player co-op so you can play with friends! The art is great and the music is catchy without getting annoying. There is no combat so it's especially good for people looking for a stress free experience. Even your animals can't die! Definitely pick this one up if you like farming sims/cozy games - it's worth it at full price.
If you are a fan of Stardew Valley and other farming/exploring games this is a great game. There is a lot to explore, collect and grow. The NPC's are diverse, though I wish there were more dialogue lines. The pre-historic setting, animals, and produce add a new flavor to the genre. The keyboard and mouse controls are unintuitive and hard to learn/master. Playing with a controller may be easier.
A great prehistoric farming game with many elements you love about this genre with an ancient twist! I definitely recommend!
