This is fun, but bit short-lived game. You get different difficulty levels and goals per scenario. But all in all only early game matters. Then you either snowball, or die. Latter never happened to me(yet), but I think that's totally possible on higher difficulties. Would love to see something similar but with more events and storytelling. Cause right now puzzle is pretty much solved and repetition of same early steps bugs me down. Another option would be to have some kid of head-start mode, where you get 1-2 cities already placed and have to figure it out from there, maybe even fix some bad situations. I still do recommend the game tho, cause fun per $ ratio is very good and you can come back to play it after serious breaks like I did.

Definitely a great game. And I love the artistic design too.
I freaking LOVE this game. Super fun gameplay loop. I wish this had an actual boardgame as well.
Alpha Centauri(Civ)-like game. Pretty looking but nothing going on at the beginning. Nothing you can do some turns, but each turn the game silently waits for you to deduce nothing can be done and click "end turn." And that is in the tutorial. Then the tutorial gives up and goes home after telling you your objective is to get 300 victory points, but not what those are or how to get them. I think this needs more work.
It's a surprisingly nice game. Lots of interesting mechanics, yet easy going. You can choose your own pace. The atmosphere of the game is very settling, notably I really like the music in the game!
nice!
Charming and really hard but if you get a bit of luck with exploration at the start then the gameplay opens up
fantastic
not bad
This is a very good medium complexity strategy building game. Same theme as the popular boardgame Terraforming Mars, but different mechanisms. Initials runs on basic difficulty are just meant as a learning experience, but feel a bit bland. The games really shines at higher or max, difficulty (45). To be clear I don't recommend max difficulty until you are familiar with the games mechanisms, otherwise you'll find the game punishing. - I like that a full game can be completed in 3-5 hours, that's a good balance between casual and 20+ hours building games. - You don't have millions of choices, but most decisions are meaningful when playing on high difficulty. No micromanagement. The mechanisms have a deliberate boardgame style feel, that is, this is not a hard Sci-Fi style simulation. For the better IMO. Yet this is a proper PC strategy game, which makes good use of the computer media. - The underlying mechanisms are sounds and smartly interconnected. It takes some games to wrap your h...
