A “game” that should have been not made in the first place. Where first impressions gave some warning signs abou the quality of the game the more I went the more sad I became. These cracks are not redeemable and forever will be broken. First thing first. Game feels extremely rushed. Basically all action surrounds on one big brown greyish ugly city. All locations seems same and boring. There are options to wonder in between city areas but they give it away even more dullness and ugliness of the “word”. I shouldn’t call world because they are just glorified hollow corridors. Forget about sense of exploration or discovery. You navigate in these mini sub areas that are not connected but you have an option to pop in from location a to location b with one button press and that’s it. Convenient? Maybe, but its dull and you don’t have this sense of big city scope that youre in. Gameplay feels very fast and to arcady. Forget Origins top down view and planning and pausing and...

Has aged really well and has overtaken as my favorite out of the three Dragon Age games.
Constant random crashes and half the time the game doesn't even want to start. EA apps appears in the taskbar, says the game is starting, goes to the system tray and no game is actually starting. DA:O was already terrible experience because EA cannot be bothered to make sure their old games still run without issues. There is a good a reason why everyone despise this publisher and their app.
So I’m playing Dragon Age backwards. Started with Veilguard, then Inquisition, and now Dragon Age 2. I haven’t played Origins yet. It’s not a perfect system, but it’s how I got introduced to the series, and I haven’t looked back. I love it so much. Going in, I knew DA2 had a bit of a mixed reputation. It came right after Origins and really flipped the script, focusing on one city instead of a big epic Grey Warden storyline. I also learned they only had 16 months to develop it compared to Origins’ 10 years, which makes a lot of sense. It reminded me way more of Veilguard than Inquisition. More linear, more focused on relationships, and much more about the story than wandering a giant open world. One thing I loved was how time passes in this game. In so many RPGs, it feels like the world ends over summer break, but here you get day/night cycles and a big 6-8 year time jump. That made Kirkwall feel alive, like a real place I’d lived in. I was ridiculously excited to se...
The game itself is fine. In fact I was really enjoying it, which is the problem. There are serious compatibility issues between Steam and the EA app (which you have to install to be able to play) in which the EA app thinks you only have the standard version, causing the game to crash and not start. I'm 20 hours in and can suddenly no longer launch the game at all. For this reason alone I'd say steer well clear of it (or purchase directly via the EA app)..
One of the best games I have ever played, even above DAO. A controversial opinion, I know, but in my mind absolutely deserved, for what it tried to do and - to my mind - achieved. The game is quite short (I'm a slow player, poking my nose everywhere and it took me just over 70hrs), mostly takes place within the city of Kirkwall, has a lot of reused assets/locations... graphics are what they are. The combat is nothing to write home about (mostly like DAO) just now blood magic kind of sucks, too. So why the praise? Do you enjoy bleak, melancholy settings? Complex, messy politics, relationships and getting very invested in fighting against hopeless odds? Did you wish DAO had even more character interactions, explore people's motivations, made them play off of each other more? Well this is IT, then! And it's not all doom and gloom, either. The amount of times I have cackled like an old witch at an exchange people were having is not small, let me say that. The characters are absol...
It is a good game.
I didn't spend much time with this before I got distracted by other games but I did enjoy the original.
Love this game! Would have been great to get a remake to get less bugs and better graphics though. Thanks EA
This game shadows in comparison to Origins in every aspect but was still a fun story to go through. I somehow feel like I made accidental every wrong choice which lead to an interesting game at the end which was also cool
