no matter how bad it is as a mass effect game, it's still better than starfield xD
Fucking piece of shit game. Who the hell though it was a good idea to restrict manual saves in missions?!?!?! In a fucking open world game where you can spend 30 minutes exploring everything, scanning a bunch of stuff, then die in an ambush and have to redo all that shit again because you couldn't save, because the game only saves in limited and very specific places. In all my years of gaming, this is the most brain-dead retarded thing I've seen. There is no excuse for it and it completely saps my will to continue playing. Of course, it's EA. Fuck EA and fuck the EA launcher.
Mass Effect: Andromeda – Review after 100% ( REALLY BUGGY ACHIEVEMENT: Matchmaker!! ) Mass Effect: Andromeda often gets a bad rap, but it actually has its strong points. The biggest one is definitely the combat: fast, fluid, and much more dynamic compared to the original trilogy. The movement system with the jetpack and real-time abilities make the gameplay really fun, especially during intense battles. That being said, it's important to clarify one thing: this game has almost nothing to do with the original Mass Effect trilogy. The atmosphere, writing, and character charisma... it’s all very different, and unfortunately, in a worse way. The story is pretty forgettable – honestly, I can barely remember it – and the player choices, which were the heart of the trilogy, have literally zero impact on the plot here. In the end, though, as long as you take it for what it is, Andromeda is still a solid game overall, especially if you grab it on sale. Anyone curious to try it...
Overall, not a bad game. But hard sale for anyone not already a fan of the mass effect franchise. However even after the years since release, the facial animations are still distracting, the dialogue boring, the morality irrelevant and the heros journey feels empty. It felt like nothing mattered, partly because the morality and campaign impacts that made ME great was gone. I preordered mass effect Andromeda as I was such a fan of ME trilogy, I believed that we were on the precipice of another incredible installment. 1 hour into game play I shelved it in 2017, and never touched it until June of 2025. I just completed it and while it isn't as buggy and horrible as it initially was on release (I had it on console) I still don't think I can recommend this game. The dialogue is just really weak at times from companions. The voice acting from certain interactions is really flat. And the eye movement of characters really takes you out of the immersion of the game. What did they improve...
The graphics are absolutely stunning for a 2017 game. Environments feel alive, with huge variety from world to world. The story and universe are genuinely interesting and keep you hooked, with the excitement of exploring a new galaxy, meeting new species, and uncovering both its mysteries and hidden ties to the Milky Way. Gameplay is fluid and satisfying. The jetpack movement adds a new layer of freedom to combat and exploration, and the mix of abilities, weapons, and profiles lets you experiment with different playstyles without feeling locked in. Encounters stay fresh thanks to diverse enemy types and well-designed arenas that encourage mobility. Sadly, many plotlines aren’t completed -
the Benefactor, the Quarian Ark, the larger kett threat, etc
, because DLCs and sequels were cancelled. You’ll finish the game wanting more, not because it’s bad, but because the universe they built here deserved to be expanded. Overall, Andromeda is a beautiful and enjoyabl...
Mass Effect: Andromeda Deluxe Edition is what happens when you set out to boldly go where no one has gone before… and immediately trip over your own facial animations. You’re the Pathfinder, humanity’s best hope in a brand-new galaxy, which would be inspiring if your squad didn’t keep staring into the middle distance like they’re trying to remember where they left the oven on. The world-building is solid, the combat is actually a blast, and exploring alien planets can be gorgeous—when the game isn’t reminding you it was held together with duct tape and optimism at launch. Dialogue ranges from heartfelt to “did a space potato write this?” but the charm of the Mass Effect universe still peeks through the cracks. The Deluxe Edition throws in extra skins, armour, and a space monkey, because clearly that’s what will save civilisation. It’s messy, it’s awkward, but it’s also strangely endearing. Like a sci-fi road trip with friends who occasionally walk into walls...
Overall a pretty good game. It doesn't compare to the trilogy, but on sale, it's definitely worth getting and playing through. Probably a better introduction to the series than ME1 due to how dated that game is honestly.
Lack of quicksave and quickload really is a huge downgrade, I dunno why they'd stop doing those in such a game where if you're like me, you want to quicksave a lot for dialogue because I regret my choices sometimes xD Difficulty wise, playing on insanity it's pretty annoying if you're put back 5-10 minutes after dying, especially if you're dying a lot. Oooor when you mess up near the end of killing an architect and you get to do the "fun" repetitive fighting for another 10-15 minutes.. (there are too many architect fights). It wasn't too bad overall for me, as 80-90% of the fights were quite easy, start of the game was a bit challenging however. Something a bit annoying is that the console button is the same as my steam overlay button, which keeps bugging...
🌸 Rating Scroll 🌸 🎮 Game: Mass Effect: Andromeda 💫 Vibe: Space drama and Jaal’s emotional support arms 📝 First Thoughts: It’s messy, but I like it. Underneath it all, there’s a genuinely fun game. It’s not the trilogy, and it doesn’t need to be. I picked this up after replaying the originals, and honestly? It’s been a solid bandaid for the post-trilogy blues. The ship is very nice and I enjoy the new crew too. If we’re comparing, then sure, it’s not Shepard, and it’s not the cast we all came to love. But there’s nothing wrong with a new adventure. For me, it filled the gap when I needed it most. 🎀 Quick Stats: 🎨 Graphics: ★★★★☆ 4/5 (Gorgeous environments, occasionally cursed faces, great with mods) 🎧 Sound: ★★★★☆ 4/5 (Great soundtrack, solid voice acting, Jaal = comfort) 🪲 Bugs: Mostly patched now 🧠 Brain Feel: 40% “who wrote this line” / 60% “I love these space idiots” 📚 What I Did Instead of Touc...
Good bones under a boring game. Weird looking characters, odd voice acting, and a weirdly MMO-ish feeling where you take mindless chore quests from npcs who just stand there helplessly. Not a reccomend.
