About This Game

In 1815 Napoleon escaped from exile on the island of Elba, returned to France and made his way to Paris in triumph. His disbanded troops once again took up arms and flocked to his colors. The defeated ruler of Europe was, once again, Emperor of France. The Allies were taken by surprise. The master military tactician was back! The Anglo-Allied army commanded by the Duke of Wellington was based in Belgium; he would have to combine forces with Blucher's Prussians to defeat him. Napoleon marched north to drive a wedge between the two armies. The battle lines were drawn for the Waterloo Campaign.

Take control of the Anglo-Allied, French or Prussian forces: armies that shaped the future!
  • Control thousands of troops in close-up conflicts or select wider, tactical views.
  • Issue orders to your forces quickly and effortlessly which the user-friendly point-and-click interface.
  • Experience the tense excitement of Napoleonic warfare in battles ranging from small engagements to the huge battles of Waterloo and Ligny.
  • Pure, thundering "against-the-clock" battle action that pushes you to the limits and recreates the pressures and tensions of active combat command.

This is the first game i bought and played. I spent a lot of time with it and i am happy to see it finally released officially again. It gives a good impression of the battles, with nice sounds effects and colors. It was a great game back then. It's still fun today. The AI is not very good and if you don't make too many mistakes, you should be fairly easy to win the battles even on the hardest settings. There is a lot of information in the game about the generals and the armies. A lot of research efforts have been put into this game to make it as accurate as possible. I will go through all the battles again and try to improve my scores. Make sure not to send your artillery through cities or rivers. What is missing so far is the amazing manual that was released back then with lots of historical notes on the battles, the armies and the generals. I hope they will add it.

A classic DOS game from the 90's. I have many fond memories of staying up late into the night playing this game as a kid, and while it's dated, the devs did a great job here, and include directions to slow it down to work better with modern CPUs.

This is a game that I spent hours on as a kid. The mechanics are all there... unfortunately, the unit animations are sped up due to the game being run in DOS box. It's a deal breaker for me, as it kills my enjoyment. I'm sure I'll be glad at some point that this game is in my Steam library. There are other online alternatives for playing this game in its original glory. If you can get past the animation issue, it's FOG just like you remember it.

Old style PC Game, historically accurate though patently dated. What's not to love?

Great little game that runs well on modern hardware. I'd love to see more games like this with easy controls but a lot of things going on under the bonnet.

This game was one of the best around for 1993. I was around 12 when I played this for the first time and it was amazing!! Still is here on Steam if you get past the unit jitters. The original played much smoother than this version. Luckily I still have the original CD-Rom, and a old Windows 3.1 machine to play it on.
