I'm only so-so on open world games, and on 3D Sonic games. But the freedom to run around using crazy sonic speeds in an open world is fantastic.

This is the best modern Sonic game. The characterization of the cast is on point - the characters feel like their actual selves, which is one of the best things that has happened to this franchise in a while. The gameplay is great, with flowing momentum and some of the best Sonic physics to date. The map design is well thought out, running around the world at top speed feels extremely fun and challenges both your mind and reflexes. The combat is a nice mix of speed and strategy. Overall, if you do like Sonic games, this one is a must play. Even if you aren't a fan of the Sonic franchise particularly, this game still stands on its own two feet without any issue and I would recommend it to anyone who likes games where speed and momentum are the main gameplay mechanic.

Sonic Frontiers is a video game with "characters", "dialogue", a "world" and "gameplay mechanics". And that's genuinely all it is. Nothingburger games like this come around once in a blue moon and I genuinely feel like being able to craft such an experience that is neither over- nor underwhelming should be considered an artform in of itself. I am so thoroughly...whelmed. But the problem is that, even on the current 70% off sale, that's not enough. This is SEGA and their literal mascot we're talking about. They don't get away with making a Sonic game that is so entirely unremarkable and bland, that I have absolutely no feelings of enjoyment or dismay when playing it. It's like stale, unsalted fries when you're really, really hungry. You're not enjoying it, but it fills your stomach, and at least only some of them are too soggy to ignore. Just...don't buy this game. You won't be able to find a crack, which is fine, because you're not missing out.

overall fun, level design is hit or miss but the hits are strong, open world controls feel great when you tune them but the traversal gets repetitive after a while, great story writing

My favorite Sonic game, i never played many either way but i really enjoyed it, hope there's a second one with Sage. The ost is filled with bangers thought i wasn't expecting the Dear Father song at the end, that one got me. I feel like with a bit more budget they can cook up a really good game for the second time.

This game looks awful. the levels are very janky, unappealing and the game play is dull beyond belief. I can't believe this is being sold for £55 Ive seen better sonic games on Roblox. level assets pop in and out of view without any effects, the levels are just a mess of assets plopped around the place. it feels empty. like early access. !'m very very disappointed in this title and would never have paid this much if I had known how bad it is. I really tried to enjoy it being a lifelong sonic fan but playing this was like pulling teeth. SA1 was far more fun than this and that was near 20 years ago. Definitely not worth £50

this sonic game is fun and a very different experience than most. hey the company is trying a few things new and i love it. there's only one thing that bugs me and that's the titan music. i was cringing through the whole battle every Sonic games has made good metal in the past and cant name one bad until this game introduced it. one of my personal favorites is with me from sonic and the black knight but it actually fit the theme and the song was catchy and it actually sounded good just like alot of other sonic soundtracks but this is aweful music for a boss. anyway theres my 2 cents over all i do love the game alot.

Sonic Frontiers is an addictingly fun game with some minor flaws. If you like the hard to drop gameplay loop of Breath of the Wild, you'll have a great time! (Just steer clear of the Final Horizon DLC unless you want to sour your thoughts on the game).
Frontiers Base Game
Overall, I enjoyed my time with the game. The platforming was fun, and the combat was serviceable for what it was. The OST is great as always, both new and old. There were only two critiques I really had with the game. The first critique is minor, but in comparison to the other islands I felt the final one was a bit stretched out. I played it the same as I did with the other islands, yet I had to spend an extra hour grinding out collectables to progress to the last bit of the game. The other critique is the bosses. Although I'm not too interested in the combat (Yakuza has that covered), I did enjoy the first boss. However I felt the bosses progressively decreased in quality. They just felt un-poli...
