Come from Fate Hunter The gameplay is pretty similar with previous game and indeed add more elements to this game ,modify a lot unpolished balance glitch. But please , please pay more attention on the art. The resource direct fetch from assets-store do not fit in the game. Previous game ' art is so perfect. The card image can tell its own property of the monster. The atmosphere created is far different from this one. This one is just like filling in check-list artwork.
If you are a fan of roguelike card games this one is a really good one to spend a couple of hours. Despite early access, the game looks promising...and i am very bad in this type of game (but i love deck building game)
As the prior poster stated, this game is made by the same company as Fate Hunters. If you are familiar with that game and its mechanics, you'll recognize how to play this quickly, out of the box. If you liked Fate Hunter, this game has almost nothing more to offer other than a different skin and some card animations much like Hearthstone. In fact, the "card" graphics are almost identical. But, if you like much of the same, perhaps you should give it a try. If you did not like Fate Hunter or grew bored quickly as I did, I would encourage you to look elsewhere. It took me less than 10 minutes to realize I was playing the same game wrapped in a new package.
The game is good, which makes this review such a shame. In general, i'd always recommend this gameplay wise. However, there are issues revolving around the game that put game devs everywhere to shame so i cannot recommend this developer and thusly none of his title. 1. If you read the most liked negative review, the game is apparently a sort of reskin of one of this devs earlier titles, bringing nothing new to the table and asking for a high price without any innovation. I didn't think much of it, but judging by the other points i now believe that this game is just a cashgrab and was only intended as a way to get new people buying a "new" game to get more money. 2. The game was abandoned. Over 2 years ago, the developer estimated a development time of 6 months to at most a year. And while it is true that judging the time it takes to finish a project as a game dev is hard, the lack of content updates as well as point 3 show that this game will never get out of early access, and if it d...
This game plays very similar to Slay the Spire. If you've played that game and loved it, Dreamgate is a well-balanced and worthy alternative. EDIT: As an FYI, this game was abandoned since my earlier review. Back then, the devs were active on Discord and actively fixing and changing things. While the game is fun (it could be fun to play if you got on deep discount), I think the devs lacked the discipline to stick with it and finish it. It's a real shame.
I'm a pretty big fan of Roguelite, and this game keeps me distracted for hours. Sometimes I get nowhere, and sometimes I manage to get just enough to make my next game easier. The mechanics are fairly simple and intuitive, and there is definitely a lot of luck, but overtime you can make it further along. There can be frustrating moments, due to luck not being on your side, but it makes the victories more sweet. It wouldn't be a Roguelite if it didn't have some level of frustration once in a while. Wow... I just realised that I spent over 19 hours on that game, that's a good sign. It makes me forget the world around me and is quite a nice escape. I'm impressed by the early access game and looking forward to seeing more.
Very similar to Fate Hunter game (same devs) but I think it's harder than FH (or maybe I just don't have the good build yet). The difference with Slay the spire (and similar) is that you don't have a mana pool (except for character who use some magic tricks (3/6)), so you can play a lot of cards (really). You can earn gold to unlock new characters (or earn new (passive and active) skills for each character) BUT you have to save your gold when you finish a map (or after finishing an entire run (which is quite hard with early build (not sure if it's really doable to be honest)). Like STS and such you can exile cards or earn (tons) of new cards but it could really affect your games. Also you gain (easily) curse and such in your deck, sometimes it's really helping (because some cards got the "fumble" trait (trash 1 or more cards to play it)). It gets hard pretty early (again especially with vanilla decks, without any (passive and active) skills unlocked), but still very fun to come back...
An interesting take on a rogeulike deckbuilder where they don't bother with the traditional mana model as well as a novel way to work in treasure. Treasure is primarily used in the metagame to unlock further cards and characters, but while still in-game, the treasure just clogs up your deck.
Better version of Hearthstone Dungeon Run!!!!!!!
