I am absolutely horrified by what this company has decided to undertake after losing hope in what was their dreams of an rpg game, turning to attempts to break into the AI industry whilst simultaneously claiming they "don't plan to replace developers" when that is exactly what it would do. I saw the update today where they explained their new direction and I cannot help but feel like I was tricked into supporting people who want to see creativity be controlled by AIs, and cost hundreds upon thousands of people their careers. Please do not buy into their "noble" reasons for deciding to start developing generative AIs, as it is fundamentally flawed, and AI is inherently harmful to our creatives in this world- and those who are willing, or already have, learned how to code, write, paint, and draw. The game itself is fine, if not uninspired. It is heavily rifted from the game Slay The Spire with some things of its own, mostly the lore, and intermittent conversations your characters can ha...

Developers use generative AI - Absolutely disgusting and disgraceful. Cannot recommend. Interesting that the AI announcement from their official Discord and Reddit hasn't been uploaded to Steam yet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EQ-hPI3NNg&t=17s&ab_channel=RedboonOfficial

Extremely rare that I leave a negative review, especially for indie titles. At most I'll leave them some feedback on forums or discord and say 'hey, didn't like this or that, carry on, pip pip, cheerio'. In this case, my money is now supporting a studio that apparently wants to swerve into AI game development. I regret my purchase. You can decide for yourself if this use of your money is something you support.

Solid game with great art and great ideas dragged down by a studio that's decided to buy all in on AI games in the future. I regret that my money has gone toward an indie studio that believes in AI generated games, taking the heart and soul out of the great stories they could be telling. Do not buy.

I want to like this game it does a lot of things well. However, it is listed as verified on the Steam deck and it is in fact a glitchy mess. As I specifically bought it to play on the Steam deck this is a huge issue. It is currently locked up and errors out on launch. I am having to figure out a way to delete my save files and hope that works. update: I can't believe the game just prompted me to delete all of my progress or else the game wouldn't work properly!!! what kind of update is that?

I really wanted to like this game and in some cases it clicks. Getting some weapons, armor, and artifacts that compliment each other was fun. I felt like I got a good flow and was able to move through just fine. Some cases sure unfair, other cases I'm overpowered. It sounds like a mixed review, because it is. The reason I'm leaving it as a negative is because the final boss you are literally leaving it up to chance. Why are you creating a gambling mechanic for the last boss? Some random encounter or event on the map sure, but the final boss? It literally just takes the wind out of this game. You work and play hard and just to lose a crappy thought out gambling mechanic. This is was artificial difficulty. Literally no strategy in the fight. You either get lucky and win or unlucky and lose. This final boss mechanic ain't it chief.

This game’s a great one to chill with in the evening dark atmosphere and moody music really hit the spot. Sometimes the difficulty spikes or sudden mechanics throw me off, but overall I’m enjoying it.

Getting to the end of the game only to not be allowed to even fight the final boss because you didn't find some random thing you didn't know you would need is infuriating and not a fun game moment.
