Short version: Game is about calligraphy and painting in ancient China. The controls are really weird, but the game is really enjoyable once you get used to them. Full version: This is a pretty chill game about going through the process of calligraphy/painting in ancient China. It's relaxing until you start messing up strokes, then your inner perfectionist keeps nagging at you to try harder until eventually you have a beautiful piece of art in front of you. You can apply paintings to nearby hanging scrolls, panels, and vases. Since it also allows you to just upload images from your computer, you can make a ton of ridiculous things and put it in the game, like random memes and such, or even painting a meme, and then using that painting to decorate things around the room (you can upload images to your painting scroll so that you can just trace them with the brush if you want the "brush" effect, or you can just upload the images directly to the...

My wife is Chinese, and we both have an interest in writing Chinese characters, so seeing this in my queue was a nice surprise. You pretty much see exactly what you get in the preview video, which is the ability to draw Chinese characters with a simulated brush. It's not perfect, or terribly professional, but for such a cheap price ($1.50 I believe at the time of writing) if you find writing these kind of characters enjoyable, why wouldn't you try it?. My only request for improvement is a possible implementation of angling the brush itself as well, based on direction of movement. Furthermore, please make a VR version! I would gladly pay at least $10 for it. Great game(?)!

Probably requires as much skill and patience as real life caligraphy.

Well done! This simulator is very, very difficult. If you have artistic talent, you will be able to express yourself. You can paint and draw in your own style. There are some brilliant works viewable on the community hub. If you want to master Chinese calligraphy, it is a long road. There are commission jobs you can take to build your skills. It is so difficult, I found my attention wandering and wished I could explore a larger environment around the studio. It is very inviting and peaceful. I kept expecting a stern instructor to walk in and chastise me for playing around... I recommend this for the very patient or persistent gamer.

10/10 hands down. This game is very relaxing and fun at the same time. I thought it will be another boring simulator but surprisingly I'm having a lot fun and "lol" moments in the game. AAA feeling in less than 1 Euro game. YES, so much better and realistic than stupid cosmetic gameplay in AAA games these days. Not much things to do around but the simplicity of the game and how the game present the Chinese culture is simply beautiful. Everything is accurately works too. I ended up drawing more than writing in the game. Love the idea of how you can keep/save your works and hang up on the walls. Drawing/writing with Chinese brush is fantastic feel. Writing need a lot of practice and patience because the simulation of the brush and ink flows are very realistic. Got bored? You can jam with violin look alike Chinese instrument as well! (forgot the name) Not into traditional music? You can jam any songs in your mind if you know the basic Do Re Mi. I played Sweet Child O' Mine with i...

My concubines plead for me to manage the desperate shortage of rice in the household, they must wait... the master must paint out the character for cock and hang it on his wall.

Very good, very calming, very accurate simulation of ink physics and includes a custom brush that you can use if you don't want to manually set up your brush. Lots of different things around the study which you can customize, either with your paintings/calligraphy or with files from your PC. However, if you're not comfortable with unusual game controls, this game is certainly not for you, as it has a very complicated control scheme. (It does give hints, you're not completely in the dark) Certainly worth your money if you enjoy Chinese culture and calligraphy, but it appeals to a very specific demographic.
