"But can it run Touhou Mechanical Scrollery?" Can't even play the game. Controls are very confusing and seemingly does not work (Day one). EDIT: So I managed to get into the game using an xbox controller. Game is very poorly optimized. Got 20 fps on a GTX 1660 TI + i7-9750H (which is considered overkill for an Unity game) On the bright side, this seems to be the first attempt at making a graphically stunning Touhou game. EDIT 2: So I checked Task Manager while running and opening the game, it reported around 8 percent CPU, 800-900 MB RAM and 100 percent GPU. Maybe allocate more resources to CPU and RAM? EDIT 3: The character model needs a lot of polishing, and I found the game somewhat repetitive on the first stage, as it's all the same map over and over again. EDIT 4: Issued a refund. I just felt there were too many things wrong about this game.

So far so good! I really love this game, it's really as in the trailer. I hate that most bad comments only mention about either performance or keyboard support. Yes, this game require a good PC and an Xbox controller, but it shouldn't be the only reason of voting down a game, especially indie ones! Because apart from these two problems, the game is fantastic! It's really in the Touhou spirit. Good combat system, awesome boss battles, even a small crafting and shop system! For 15€, it's definitely a good game that I recommend. Edit: For those commenting that keyboard and performances are very important in the review, I'm not saying you shouldn't mention them at all. However, if you do not say anything about the game content itself, complaining only about these is really not helping other users. The only good "bad review" I've read was someone complaining about keyboard & perf, but also talking about the content itself. Edit 2: So I've played this game for 5 hours now, I'm up t...

I was really looking forward to this game, but unfortunately I cannot recommend it in this state. There's no keyboard support, so you pretty much need a gamepad in order to play. Thankfully that wasn't the issue for me, but what WAS a major problem was the terrible optimization. Now I know my gaming laptop isn't the strongest, but it can run most modern games with very little issue. And yet this game chugs along at 15 FPS even with all the graphics set to minimum and Vsync shut off. And what's worse, the game doesn't even have a pause menu (which is a major red flag right there), so every time you want to fiddle with the settings you have to hard-quit. I might revisit this game at a later time if the developers majorly rework the engine, but until then I'm refunding and advising a hard pass on this game.

When I saw the gameplay trailer, it really looks like it was something made by minusT. Like honestly, look at the background and danmakus. That looks like minusT quality right there.
If you are a Touhou fan but does not know who minusT is then you should be ashamed of yourself.
Anyways, lets get to the review. Upon starting the game, I hear a calm piece of The Gensokyo the Gods Left which instantly gave me nostalgia. At the start, you will be greeted to a menu that allows you to adjust the settings and changing the language to ensure better gameplay performance. You will need a good pc to play this game since upon starting the tutorial, I am greeted with low fps instantly even when the settings are set for slow computers. The controls in this game for computer is very confusing such as the arrow keys used to rotate yourself, or the Y button to dodge, etc. Also the fact there is no attack key makes this game very complicated and almost makes the game unplayable fo...

This game has a lot of potential but the end product feels like a bad asset flip. Clunky and ugly environments, bad controls, but deep down a good game is hiding somewhere. It just won't come out. If they had a few more months to work on the game it would probably have been great.

Control with mouse & keyboard is still a bit wacky tho but it usable now, but it's better with controller, a performance is better than day one, solid live2d, still need a lot of improvements

mouse & keyboard now usable, that's enough for me to enjoy this game and performance issue was a main reason why this game unplayable, but it's not a problem anymore I got around 12-15 fps before it's fixed, now got 55-60 fps looking forward for more improvements & content updates

Other than keyboard & control config problems, really good and enjoyable Touhou fangame. For those having problems with xbox 360 controller, go to Steam > Setting > Controller > General controller setting (enable controller) and Big picture config ( default ).

With the recent update with key binding, this is worth getting. there's a few bugs here and there and I can't really go into menu when clocking (esc) key so I guess we're stuck in there OwO PLAY THE GAME IN BORDER MODE IF YOU WANT TO EXIT (Autosave enabled) SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Those afraid of the requirements of the game, I'm currently on Ryzen 7 with a strix 1080ti doing just fine with 60.1fps and very quick loading screens. CON: Only con is this game doesn't have super ultrawide support (32:9 ratio) for ultrawide thicc bois like me. fullscreen just overscales the entire game. so far I'm loving this game the tag on (full controller support) means you'll most likely need to bind the hell out of it, just stick to keyboard and mouse tbh PRO TIP: the game starts in Japanese so if you want to have english then use the up, down arrow keys and click the (second box) which is (settings) then click your (enter) key for it to toggle (english language)
