This game is a mixture of Hollow Knight and Zelda. Like hollow knight, you are exploring a ruined kingdom. There's not much story and the lore is left intentionally vague. You get hints of the world but it never fully forms. That being said, the characters are fun and provide enough life to make the world seemed lived in. The controls are tight which is the most important part of a 3D platformer. It's fun to move to wall jump, dash, and attack. At first you think it will have you explore dungeons but it quickly abandons this mid way to go boss hunting. That was disappointment because the dungeons, while not as well designed as Zelda, were still really fun and interesting. I wish they had continued this style of gameplay. It almost felt like they realized they ran out of money and had to pivot to something else. That being sad, the bosses are still fun. While I wouldn't replay this, I enjoyed the 10+ hours I put in it.

Unbelievably jank. A little bit Zelda, a little bit Prince of Persia (specifically the 2003-2005 trilogy), with just a hint of 'ruined kingdom' Dark Souls mood. Lots of platforming but It's imprecise and feels sloppy to play - as the player you feel like you're making something work that is threatening to break down on you at any time. Combat feels pointless and lacks any challenge. You unlock additional hearts (Zelda) and I guess you can parry (Souls) but it's all extremely half-assed. The game is also terribly written with bland NPCs, generic pseudo-lore, and (to top it off) comically basic phone-game style UI. The dumbest stuff happens in this game. Chests you open will later re-close, the game will ask you if you want to use a key to open a door even when you have no keys, etc. It's also a slow-starter: everything that happens before reaching Stoneheart City could just be deleted. 2023's Pseudoregalia is the game this wanted to be.
I went in expecting nothing and 100%ed the game over a weekend. Its sstyledidnt grab me at first, but once I saw that there were indeed real platforming challenges, I was stoked to continue. I was also turned off by the lack of a map initially, but I learned the layout well enough while playing that I was rarely lost.
5 hours and I just cant get myself to like this, even though from the looks of it i should love this game. Its just way too obscure to me, I got lost constantly
Incredible platformer that requires you to learn its mechanics to reach better and better results and higher and higher locations. I especially appreciate the way the world is designed and the exploration it allows for, with some must-have items being hidden so well that the gameplay may change significantly between players. I wish the combat was as fleshed out and not as easy as it is (especially if you manage to find the best movement spirits), but the bosses are generally just a slight inconvenience and nothing more than that
Fun and challenging. There are some rage inducing Voids but that sense of accomplishment after.... ahh. I honestly would love to see more of the world in this game. As the lore really puts into perspective that it is much larger than the areas we explore. Maybe a sequel where the planet recovers?
I've completed 130% completion including the DLC and it was SOOOOOOOO fun! I wish there was more! When I started playing at the beginning, I wasn't sure but after 30-40 mins, I was on a very fun roll! This game blends Zelda and any type of adventure RPG all together, There's a parkour platforming challenge called the Void and it's so tough but very rewarding! I recommend this game to everyone! ^^
For many years I've been looking for a game to scratch the same itch as the parkour of the PoP Sands of Time trilogy, and this game is the closest thing to that. Very very fun platforming, one of the most enjoyable games on that front. Combat exists but it's faaar from the main focus. The world was a joy to explore. The atmosphere has a weird blend of cute and sad, which I found quite endeering. Some of those final challenges were hair-pullingly hard, but so cathartic to finally beat. I strongly recommend you commit to beating all of them if you enjoyed the main game.
The controls (Xbox controller or keyboard) are sometimes unreasonable, and if that's not enough, the camera work or the (sudden) change in perspective ruins what is left. On top of that, I can't get the hang of the damn technique with the claw and sliding along a wall. After spending an hour trying to get the Holy Key in the back area of Lower Water Level in Forrest Shine, I've had enough of this game. Frustration kicks in hard.
it’s pretty good the combat reminds me of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and even though the dungeons aren’t really as good or long they’re still good. it’s not really hard but it’s good if you like zelda games.
