There is a certain balance of variance in content, replayability and good gameplay fundamentals that roguelikes, particularly FPS rogues, MUST hit in order to be great and I feel like Gunfire fits that bill and then some. This seemingly unassuming little indie game hides a pretty robust library of weapons, enemies, and gun modifiers, from your standard SMGs and snipers to Chinese inspired zithers, swords and wind staffs. You get a choice of hero, each with their own unique abilities, resource meters and playstyles. While the boss variety isn't the greatest, you have 3 main stages each with 2 different possible bosses at the end of each stage for a total of 6 bosses, as well as the variety of rooms and enemy types you can expect from a roguelike. Add to that DLC content with new weapons and heroes, different game modes, and an ALMOST (and I MUST emphasise it, don't get the wrong idea) "live service"-y season system with completely free battlepasses you can complete for weapon skins and ...

An underrated gem of a game - it's essentially a roguelike Borderlands, but with a bunch of build diversity and constant updates from the dev team to keep things fresh, I've been playing this for years and still frequently come back to it.

This one ain't for me, chief. It's not badly made, and it's not that it lacks a certain level of fun (and it oozes charm) - but the progression is mind-numbingly slow. It's hard not to look at this as a monetisation angle: multiplayer aside (we'll get to that), you get one hero until level 40... unless you buy some DLC. Otherwise you'll grind through 40 levels to get the next hero, and you'll be dead of ennui well before then. The multiplayer is... weird. They have a blocker on multiplayer until level 10, I guess so you learn the game - but this is not that hard a game to learn. It probably doesn't matter anyway, as I've never been able to get a multiplayer match going anyway. There's definitely cute/charming in this product, but you need to be aware you'll be up for the base game + DLC as the cost of entry, and you'll want a premade squad to multiplayer as you can't rely on the matchmaking.

I spent 10 minutes choosing a hero and 30 seconds realizing I’m about to be pulverized by a flaming chicken army. I unlocked a legendary weapon and immediately got obliterated by a barrel. Balance! RNG hates me, bullets love me, chickens are unbiased. The game is sooooo fire. Its basically start with a little bit of hope, that turns into chaos, and then regret, and then you still repeat.

One of the best rouge-likes you can buy - characters, weapons and levels have a style and charm that others struggle to capture while the scrolls and upgrades make every run different, each DLC is well worth the cost IMO. The only minor downside I experience is the translation issues on some of the occult scrolls, everything else about the game is perfect for people who wanna spend hours doing consecutive runs and earning upgrades.

Gunfire Reborn? More like Skillfire Reborn (Shout out to Atomic Dog, Mozilla Firefox, Unlimited Rocket Works Nona, Kenshiro Turtle, etc) Played since the early access and it is a solid, quality game. If there is a game that you can't decide to play with friends, this game is always a pocket pick. The seasonal updates make the game refreshing to play and the modifiers enhance the roguelite loop. There is a seasonal battlepass but the best part is that you aren't locked out of the cosmetic rewards if you don't play that season or did not complete the pass by the date. You can buy the cosmetics with the soul essence. Give it a shot (no pun intended)

One of the best rogue-likes i've ever played, I'd say its up there with risk of rain the the binding of isaac. The only problem is that the english translation is a little off and makes item descriptions a bit confusing. Other than that, it feels like if path of exile and doom had a baby and made it a roguelike

This game is challenging in a very satisfying and rewarding way. Love the guns, the characters, everything. And they've updated and added a lot of features since I first started playing. Also love that I can play such a melee focused up-in-your-grill type character with the bird. He kicks a**, literally.

Fastpaced with high replay value, the ability to create absolute batsh*t builds, moderate to high difficulty. All I need from a top tier rougelike game.

Fun, replayable and still gets updates to this day, with the occasional typo and/or untranslated word, but overall works and runs smoothly.
