Good game, early access, so it is a bit rough. I like to get in and just make things happen, so anything that slows that down is a bit of a bummer. The tutorial level didn't work for me, so I just jumped straight into the game. It took me a bit to find the "delete tile" key. I found it on accident as I was trying to use "r" as the rotate key, but nope, it's delete. Honestly though, after playing the game a bit, I liked the control scheme. I only used "e" to rotate though. Sorry "q". Some current bugs as of the first of April 2020. Don't assume these still exist: [list] [*]On levels with multiple outputs, they are all labeled "1" at the beginning of the level. Placing a straight piece into them fixes that. [*]Clicking to close the Components system while having a component selected places it in the last place your cursor was in the construction area. It also wraps up one going from left to right. [*]Clicking the toolbar after selecting a Component to place has that click eaten (it...
While the opening tutorial seems broken, Boolean serves as an awesome circuit simulator complete with challenges and an entire sandbox mode where you can build whatever you want. This is exactly what I was looking for and I'm not disappointed at all - even if there are better versions of it on the market. Considering that it's under $10 and does whatever you want it to do, it's probably the cheapest *working* circuit simulator out there. Hopefully we will see some cool updates in the future, but it functions perfectly fine as-is.
Early access so kinda buggy, but expected. not unplayable by any means. Having a previous knowledge of logic gates being used to build adders and the likes definitely helped, but the tutorial and level progression is good at teaching you the concepts. and If I remember correctly it was very cheap. 8/10 would definitely recommend!
Great for just chilling, would reccommend!
Boolean has all the groundwork laid for a fun and entertaining puzzle game. It is rough around the edges, as is to be expected with an early access title, but the developer is responsive and road map looks promising. I recommend this game to anyone that is interested in digital logic games or puzzle games in general. At its current state, the bulk of the game is an open ended sandbox so you get what you bring to it. Tutorials are available, although they can be a little bit confusing to those that are completely new to this kind of game. New tutorials are planned for the future. The game is pretty cheap and it is worth supporting indie developers that give us these kinds of niche titles. Give it a try.
