About This Game

Prometheus Wept is a turn-based, party-based isometric role playing game set on Earth, in the aftermath of the digital apocalypse.

Imagine a near-future Earth where technology has become even more integrated and essential to daily life. Imagine the sudden destruction of all our digital technology, in less than a day, by an unprecedented cyber-attack. The virus tears apart the global web of largely automated agriculture, production and transport. Communications systems are silenced, as healthcare is amputated, and global financial systems flat-line.

Imagine generations of chaos, widespread loss of life, the backslide into barbarism, and the fragmenting of nations into insular city states. Become a wandering Classical Technologist, surviving among the splintered remnants of humanity, searching for and attempting to restore the technological relics of humanity's golden age.

Make a myriad of choices, little and large, to shape your journey through the world of Prometheus Wept. However, as in real-life, your choices will eventually catch up with you, and some will even pursue you to distant places.

  • Will you chop down a tree in the path of a convoy to halt it, or deploy makeshift spikes to blow out the truck's tires?

  • Will you employ lethal force against the residents of a dilapidated fishing port, who have fallen prey to a mysterious, collective madness, or will you take a softer approach?

  • Will you destroy a bridge to make a river crossing more perilous for your advancing enemies, or dispatch a runner to secure reinforcements?

  • Will you help overthrow a questionable oligarchy, or cement their position against growing unrest? After all, in the post virus world, civilized is a relative term.

  • Turn (AP) and Party Based Tactical Combat: battle it out with a variety of melee, ranged and explosive weapons, with aimed and special attacks, powerful perk-based abilities, attacks of opportunity and more.

  • Use The Environment To Your Advantage: Destroy cover to leave enemies exposed, use a variety of environmental objects against your foes, and exploit interactions between the primal forces of fire, water and electricity to your advantage.

  • System infiltration: Transfer your character's consciousness into the treacherous environment of a corrupted computer system, while allies protect you from physical world threats. Employ a range of scripts (abilities) to overcome corrupted system security, and commandeer physical world systems like defenses and doors from within the machine.

Build your team using the ADAPTER character system, which comprises 7 stats, 17 skills and a huge variety of perks. Throughout the game, you will meet and ally with exceptional individuals, each with their own unique set of perks.

Create a large variety of weapons, armour, explosives, gadgets, combat stims and medical supplies. The quality of the crafted item is determined by the quality of the blueprints you possess, your crafting skill and the quality of the components used.

Wishlisted Prometheus Wept ages ago (think it was 2020), have been checking back and forth on it since. Love the studios previous game Vigilantes have 121 hours in it (still have hero difficultly to do). Have played the opening section and i am really enjoying the game, world, atmosphere and music. Combat is nice, ran brilliantly and no crashes or bugs. Looking forward to playing and completing act 1. Can't wait to see the rest of the game and the story.

"It's so raw it still has wool on it." -Gordon Ramsay It's been in my wishlist since 2021. It looked promising and I really enjoyed the dev's last game so I got it as soon as I can. However, Prometheus wept at its current stage is very disappointing. Some of my issues with the game: 1. There are quite a few bugs around. You may get to see one without even getting out of the character creation menu. 2. Lack of QoL features. You need to hold down the highlight item button for items to show up as highlighted. There's no minimap (at least the game doesn't seem to tell you if there is one and I couldn't get it out). There are people you can talk to with a speech bubble on their head but the speech bubbles are super small and you have to look around extra hard if you want to find these people you can talk to. It makes the experience rather bad. 3. Janky controls. Character movement while free roaming is extremely janky, which can lead to terrible starting positions for combat, moving and a...

Delightful game!!! Note: It is early access and has a definite learning curve. The mechanic do take time to work out. The designer is very active on the comments section. He helped me understand, some concepts. After that interaction the game which was good, got much better! I give a strong recommendation for the game if you have the patience to learn its depths.Which is great. If you want a perfect game from to get go. Wait till 1.0 release So the whole pre-view took me 11 hours. Very unique game concepts, plenty of plot twist and turns. This is going to be a great game. If you don't put the time in or ask for help understanding how it works you are not going to like it. But if you do try you will be very impressed.
