Starship Troopers: Terran Command

I cannot recommend this game any longer. Buyer beware, DO NOT trust the prior reviews made before August 2025, they reflect a game that no longer exist. The current game is not at all like what has existed prior, nor like what is shown in the video on steam. The games entire design ethos has radically shifted, from prior focus on large scale conflict, with maps that have multiple ways to complete them, up to you to decide how to deploy your forces. After the latest update, that has all been changed. The games focus is now on small scale tactical engagements with you having at most 3-4 units. Said units are HEAVILY restricted by the developer, where before you could build your force how you liked, now you are only allowed what the developer felt would be the most "fun" for that map. Maps themselves have been gutted, where prior a map would have multiple avenues of completion, now the maps are effectively a funnel, there is only one way to progress, the developers way. I love games that bring free major content to their updates..except when they make changes that made the map fun or the player made content fun. this last update has ruined that for me, the maps constantly freeze and crash my game.

I can stand the now exceptionally long loading times that have come with the update. I'd prefer it if they weren't like that but its not an end of the world problem. Fort Maru mission however... it might not be the most recent update but one/a combination of them has ruined it. Between the Scorpions and the fact that nothing in your arsenal actually counters them (Rocket turrets that have at best the same range and oneshotted by it? I call BS) as well as the sheer number of enemies which is assume is because of the 'awesome' wavebreaker turrets that are at best middling anti-scorpion defence rather than wave clear (see the above, Scorpions kill everything...) This mission unfortunately was where it stops being fun and starts being sheer frustration...

It feels off from time to time and the UI is not intuitive for me but overall it s a nice game

The rolling bomb bugs kinda did it for me, trying to move everyone with this much clunk, not so fun. Found myself having to redeploy constantly. But overall a not so bad game with great setting and good voice acting.

Love the game, but when they send out a update and that update makes the game unplayable (just sits at the loading screen)... That should probably be addressed by someone...

Not fun... AI spams units faster than you. Yo never have enough resources.. have to stop to shoot and micromanaging is horrible, made worse when combine with terrible UI

a very good rts game

It is a very fun and challenging game. I absolutely recommend it. Don't expect extensive battlegrounds with thousands of soldiers. It is a squad control game, where matching different types and choosing the special abilities can change the outcome of the mission significantly. The producer managed to introduce a very efficient way of making sure that you actually "care" fro your squads using a very simple but effective experience system. Graphics are nice, I would not say amazing but sufficient to make the game enjoyable. Some unit animations are very funny, like the way the mech's walk. Its like the are dancing lambada... Sound is decent but there would be room for improvement and could be a very easy way to enhance the experience.
