Fateful End: True Case Files intrigued me with its unique plot and art style, however between the text setting being either a snail pace, or double clicking to simply be able to read at a rate above that of a child reading for the first time, and puzzles that left the player with no direction I can't recommend this game to others. The story seems interesting but as I haven't been able to finish the game, and have only managed to complete the first 3 chapters, that is all I can speak on. The story I've witnessed quickly falls off after the first chapter, the main character isn't anyone you want to root for and it's not surprising that someone was out to kill him. The main character makes a living through scams and forgery to make quick easy cash that they can then invest. Nice game! Good suspenseful atmosphere with just a few splashes of light horror. I thought the story was really well done. All the characters have a reason to hate you so it keeps you guessing till the end who wants you dead. The one thing I might say is that there are a few parts that play uncomfortably like a dating sim, but maybe that's just me. Beyond that I would definitely recommend this game.

Again I find myself wishing I could write a neutral review. The game quality is forgivable for the price. Its plot depth is rather typical for a mobile game mystery. That said, I found myself more frustrated than not. For a point and click, those sections are frustrating, with no clearly defined artistic objects that have you button mashing the screen for anything that may register with no rhyme or reason - only to find a bit of advancing dialogue means areas you already checked may have new items now that you're looking for something new. The text speed was gratingly slow and no good way to adjust to fix beyond double clicking. I personally found the MC to be completely intolerable, which didn't endear me to saving his life. On more than one occassion I got stuck for 10+ minutes just because I couldn't figure out how to navigate my way around the room or even realize there WAS more to the room with the registered click area to move or turn not being well defined or easy to find. Once...
