About This Game

Pilot a hyperwheel car, 2197's most versatile sport combat vehicle. Race or battle against other drivers in VR, or perform big stunts on the massive quarterpipes of the Xenodome. Take advantage of a large assortment of power-ups, as well as your laser rifle & dedicated grenade/rocket launcher. Use a plane kit to soar over the daunting HyperCorp Complex, or a boat kit to navigate the long shores of Volcanica Island!

If using a Windows PC, look to right for "Download Demo" button.

  • play 11 different match types including Race, Stunt, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, & CTF
  • race over 20 unique tracks, forwards and backwards, within the game's 6 stages
  • unlock car decals & other content by earning trophies, or by collecting hidden golden rings
  • play online with up to 10 players or offline with bots
  • customize your experience via the many comfort options such as 3rd-person view & rotation locking

As you play, you'll collect race and challenge trophies, as well as golden rings hidden (or otherwise difficult to reach) throughout the game's 6 large stages. These are used to unlock additional game content as you become a more experienced hyperwheeler. Unlock new car decals and driver suit skins, as well as additional stages and race tracks.

Hyperwheel Overdrive's innovative vehicle design combined with the powerfully immersive nature of VR make the experience novel and unforgettable. Start your hyperaxles, grab your laser rifle, and welcome to HYPERWHEEL OVERDRIVE!

Note on Comfort: Though the game is on the more intense side of things in VR, we have gone to great lengths to offer many different ways of experiencing the game including a third-person camera system that makes all first-person rifle and power-up handling continue to work seamlessly, helmet vignettes, comfort cages, and rotation-locked views. There should be enough options present to make the game suitable for most VR players, and there are less intense experiences available in the larger game such as the boat races. Play the demo and see for yourself if the game is comfortable for you!

Great game. Lots of options for comfort and controls. Definitely a unique and memorable take on the racing genre. 1000x more nuanced than Mario Kart due to being built from the ground up with VR mechanics in mind. Plenty of power ups and items to use, similar to Mario Kart. Dissimilar to Mario Kart, attempting to shoot people while maneuvering is hectic but exhilarating. While we wait for the Quest release to have lots of people to play with, there are plenty of collectibles to be found in singleplayer. That in and of itself is quite fun. The times I've played races with real people has been an absolute blast. Fingers crossed that the community for this game grows, it's hella fun.

This game is a lot of fun to play. So many different modes to play. racing, capture the flag, stunt, death match, free play where you try and find all the rings. The reason I especially like it is because you can sit down and play. The rockets and grenades look cool blowing stuff up. The races on water are my favourites. I think you could play this a long time and not see everything it has to offer. The leader boards keep a person striving for better times and trophies. I recommend this game if your into action games.

This game is a blast whether just playing in single player or online. There are a bunch of game modes and CTF which works really well in cars. Also, there's a bunch of race tracks which I'm currently still working my way through trying to get the trophy times. In single player half the time I'm just in free play messing around with ramps and the gun so far. If you don't naturally enjoy the feeling driving the car around in the arenas feels though, maybe you wouldn't like single player as much as I do because the bots could be better. But the online play is solid and worth it too. Deathmatch was amazing because there are planes and explosives to watch out for and racing was super fun. I am looking forward to seeing more people find and get good at this game to make the online games more competitive, because this game is a really cool VR experience!

Really fun game with a ton of potential to grow. There are lots of game modes to choose from; capture the flag/team death match/racing. Once you get ahang of the controls, you feel like your one with the kart. Has a real twisted metal/road rash vibe with the cool gun attachments/ways to kill enemies

Already a great experience. Brings back the long lost fun of the N64 era of stunt racers I have been missing even on flatscreen plus the unique twist with the shooter/power up VR interactions that makes this gem more than just nostalgic but fresh and new. The options for controls and comfort are quite varied with great flexibility in gameplay. Cant wait to see where this game and studio are going.
