I’m not the kind of player who writes reviews for every game I play, so I’ll try to make this one count. Iron Rebellion is a MUST-PLAY for every VR enthusiast—especially if you enjoy cockpit experiences, whether that’s driving a car, piloting a spaceship, or in this case, commanding a giant mech. At first, it’s just exciting to stomp around and blast things in your mech—but that’s only the beginning. The game has real depth, with different mech classes, weapons, and augments you can tailor to your playstyle or personal preference. There are even hard counters to specific loadouts, which keeps the game fresh. This can be great if you like variety and strategy, though it might frustrate players who prefer sticking to one playstyle without adapting. The game is still in development, but it already hooked me for over 165 hours. It’s far from finished, yet the potential is huge. The devs keep adding content regularly and seem to have a clear roadmap. That said, t...
Best controls for a mech game I've ever seen. The cockpits have so much attention to detail and I'm so immersed when I play. Its suffering from a player count problem atm but its still really fun to play against bots or to just jump into someone else's hosted game. Super easy to get into a match regardless. I don't think this game gets as much credit as it deserves and I cant wait for it to catch on.
I enjoy the mechanics of this game a bunch, it is well laid out and really scratches that mech fighting in VR itch. I would love to see more customizations and weapon hardpoints but it totally get the limits and challenges of adding all that.
So yea, have been playing this for awhile, keepin myself in touch with the news and so on and I decided to give this a negative review sadly based on my experience so far. Game has potential, it is fun, but it has IK weapons, weapons that perform better than others, weapons that just instakill people, which is never a good thing in a competetive game. Other weapons dont get a screen time much if any at all, like for example, the Stag shotgun, theres like, just me who uses it because its just bad at killing things, you will not see another person use that sort of weapon cuz its not at par with the better choices that most people use. Or mech abilities like the cloak not cloaking you, meanwhile ability use of a medium mech calls in airstrike that kills whole groups, like the balance problem is massive. And so yea, tried to be loud with it, to make people see the imbalance, but devs have no plans on touching this big issue any time soon. Coffee maker was something that got added to the...
Fun game, runs great, looks great. Wish it had a campaign though.
Honestly a very fun game, still has a semi devoted playerbase, mostly older guys. If it had an active playerbase, and balance adjustments to some guns, it would be much easier to recommend. Regardless, the gameplay is beyond fun, so I cannot help but leave it a positive review.
