User Reviews
Let me say just one thing real quick before I start this review. I am not a terribly huge fan of bullet hell games. I have not played very many of them and I'm ok at them but Bullet Hell games are alright. Honestly I mainly just bought this to support the dev of this game and to give it a quick play through. Anyways this means Nyanco, anything I say here that is negative, please don't take it personally but more as constructive criticism please and thank you. Now that that is out of the way, onto the game review. So Nyanco Dream is a bullet hell game..... made in RPG Maker. Yes you read that right. Made in RPG Maker. Now about this statement, I have VERY mixed emotions. So let me just make a detailed of pros and cons as to why my emotions are the way they are. We will start with the cons: - The performance is absolutely god awful. Honestly this is the first time in my entire life that I have seen an RPG Maker game lag before. Truth be told I thought I would never see the day that an...
This game is just $1, so we need to be gentle. Of course, optimization is required, but after practicing a few times, anyone can reach the ending enough. This game is interesting for me, because it shows how bullet hell games work in the RPG Maker. I like Touhou Project, and Nanco is so cute. That’s all!
You made a bullet hell in RPGMaker! You absolute madlad! I admire your insanity, but I shall be refunding this game since it isn't very good. Honestly, with a bit of work you could just remake this in Game Maker or something without too much trouble. Coding isn't THAT hard. If you can make something this outside of the box in RPGMaker, I'm sure you could make something great in GODOT or GameMaker. Both would be good development environments for something like this. Keep making things!
The game isn't bad but the performance is terrible. For now I can't recommend it.
I really liked this this game it was short but a lot of fun,the story was simple nothing fancy, the characters were cute and held a charm of there own,i think new game plus is were it's at for me the shot patterns are much better and a lot more fun to play. As for the cons the movement felt a little clunky making it hard to dodge some shots and the final fight would drop frames so hard on me that i could not even move (but the game never crashed on me),oh and the same button to fire shots skips the dialogue so at the end of a fight i skip a couple of frames. Edit: Forgot to mention the music which i enjoyed a lot(especially the first fight at the mansion) if your in to this type of game music.
Nyanco Dream is cute and wholesome. Like buying a smile for less than 1$/EURO. It keeps you entertained for 20-30 minutes. Also has NewGame+ to entertain you further by limiting Nyanco’s shotrange and boosting boss HP. Who knows, maybe Nyanco can get another fan if you decide to cheer for her while she’s dreaming of being in the Touhou World.
Gameplay If you run out of health points you will have a gameover. If you don’t get hit, health regenerates constantly, even during on-screen text. So if you are low on health just enjoy listening to the music for a while and then continue with almost all your health fully replenished. Responsivity When too many danmaku are on screen the game slows down to a crawl, making movement impossible. The trick is to memorize the patterns and move accordingly to the dead spots in hope not to get hit. Even if you get hit, you will somehow still be able to spam the shoot button. Maybe the developer can find a way to resolve thi...
A bit strange and confusing at first, but the story and humor make it worth sticking with. You’ll need to experiment a lot—sometimes even trying things that don’t seem to make sense—to progress. Expect some surprises along the way, as the game isn’t afraid to mess with the fourth wall!
bruh I can run any touhou game at max graphics and this piece of shit lags hard as fuck. I understand the game itself is a joke but at least make it playable.
Well this game was... decent. It's not the best thing I've ever played, but it's alright. Pros [*]Very cheap [*]Somewhat interesting visuals. Cons [*]Very short, but that's alright considering the price. [*]All the bosses are pretty easy to beat. [*]The animations are kind of choppy and laggy. [*]You have to tap the fire button repeatedly instead of holding it down to shoot. Overall, it's not bad for the price I suppose.
