Okay, so i do love this game to an degree, but i question one integral part of the game, and it's selling point. Why in heavens name do we need to play as our child if we can't interact with the past? We take time to live out one childs life just to watch them become 'parent 2.0' and run the same dialogue at us when they were kids, completely killing any history or personality they could have had from past experiences. That means every child you have is exactly the same as last time besides their looks. even the end result is basically the same. (and who ever you marry meets the same generic fate and even your teachers are immortal) this is the kind of game that has a mechanic that is not being used correctly at all or not to the fullest potential, so if you were hoping for that 'selling point' to deliver this is the wrong game sadly. what i can say is that the soundtrack is definitely stuck in my brain for all eternity. Haha..i've been singing 'ain't it great to be alive!' at random i...

TLDR: simple but effective gameplay, limited replay ability, simple customisation, predictable characters and story.
Growing Up
Growing up is a fun casual life simulation game in which you grow from a child to an adult, using your time wisely to learn skills and shape your future. In Growing up you will meet a variety of characters at different points in your life with different lifestyles and stories as well as endings based off the players interactions - similar to a visual novel. The characters change at random each time you play so getting the same character twice within the first few reruns is unlikely The game plays very similar to a mobile game but it works well, the simplicity of the game followed by the management of your parents expectations and your own happiness makes for a good few hours of gameplay.
Gameplay Overview
You progress your characters skills by managing their happiness and parental expectations, the game requires you to cl...
This game is fun. That's it. Compared to other games in the genre, the writing is quite shallow, and that's fine. It's still enjoyable and it's fun to achievement hunt and work your way through all the character stories. I had a good time and would generally recommend this, minus a few gripes. The characters are all likeable and interesting, and I enjoyed hearing each character's story and meeting them through different points of childhood. The characters do fall victim to "I have a problem and it will be the entire basis of my personality" though, but again, if you don't go in expecting a game with emotional depth, it's still fine and fun. I enjoyed the stat building aspect of it. This is the core gameplay element other than essentially a visual novel with some choices. If stat building is not your thing, steer clear. There are mini-games to achieve this which are repetitive but enjoyable. The game has customisation options for your character too which are actually really good, I ju...
love the game but the fact that Alex isn't into woman and Jake isn't into men is insane to me :<
I dont like the girl the game offered to me, so our relationship is no more than bestfriend. then the game offered a boy, I befriend him because Iam not gay. in the end of the game, the game asked me whether I want to be with a woman or a man. I mistakenly click the man. now I am getting married with a man. becoming a gay is my destiny.
It's just SO GOOD
I love stat raisers
good fun game
A great game, the process is a little repetitive. However there's so many character stories and life routes to complete that its easy to replay over and over. 10/10 would play again. Took me 54 hours to complete the game (get all the achievements) but I believe you could do it quicker if you cared to.
love this game, honestly so replay-able. my favourite thing is the brain map.
