Rise Of The White Sun - 白日升

In a modern game, there should at least be some level of graphics. This is a text-based product that can’t really be called a game. Zero intuitiveness. However, I’m not throwing it aside just yet — maybe my opinion will change, and the game’s concept will outweigh the lack of graphics.

Very unpolished and quite unintuitive, the lack of explanation for why or how things are happening make it feel less like a thought out political/war game sim, and more like a game about understanding how seemingly distant and poorly explained or understood mechanics interact with each other. That being said, this is a one man labor of love, and on a very complex and hard to research era of history that I am an avid reader of. Just the fact that someone took on the daunting challenge to make warlord era china into a complex grand strategy game, let alone attempting to fully embrace the multifaceted complexities of the time gets my respects. I think over a long period of time learning how these mechanics work and embracing the roughness in the games UI and design, I will be able to fully enjoy this game.

You know this is a china simulator if a single tile movement is worth 50000 peasants that you use for carrying stuff for your military, if any god forsaken village can be used as infinite manpower well, and if you play among us with your prominent characters (all of them are traitors)

This game is perfect. I've been trying to find a historic game that has one of fav spirits, Roman Sternberg, which makes me cry joyful

A really unique Strategy-Roleplay game in a really interesting and unique setting.

Not a very beginner-friendly game, but once you learn and get into it, it's really fun and enjoyable. I love this part of history, and this game really sells the setting great. The only thing I think the game could really use is the option to see unit morale on the map itself, so you don't have to click on every unit to see it. But besides that the game is great!

Very cool, feels like the ageod games in terms of small wargame scenarios but with the crunchy grognard elements boiled out and a character focus added instead. Would love to see a Three Kingdoms game with this kind of character based system.

The UI could be simpler and I really wish for a MacOS version that's not stuck on the 32-bit
