About This Game

Wishlist the series' Beach Episode! (seriously, it's a thing.)

Where it all began:

About the Game

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Impostor Factory is a narrative-driven adventure game that is categorically out of its mind.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dr. Watts and Dr. Rosalene have peculiar jobs: They give people another chance to live their lives, all the way from the very beginning.

But this isn't their story. Probably.

Instead, it's about Quincy. Let me tell you a story about him.

One day, Quincy was invited to a fancy parteh at a suspiciously secluded mansion. So, he accepted and went; because even though the mansion was suspicious and secluded, it was also fancy and had a parteh.

In fact, it turned out to be so fancy that there was a time machine in its bathroom. Quincy could wash his hands and time-travel while he was at it. Talk about a time-saver!

But of course, then people start dying, because that's what they do. And somewhere along the way, things get a little Lovecraftian and tentacles are involved.

Anyway, that's around 1/3 of what the game is really about.

F.A.Q.:
Q: Is playing To the Moon and Finding Paradise mandatory before playing this game?
A: Impostor Factory can be played independently, just like the games before it. But the order of playing would affect the experience.

Q: Is Impostor Factory the sequel to To the Moon and Finding Paradise?
A: Maybe not. Maybe it's a sequel. Maybe it's a prequel. Maybe it's both.

This is a series that gets worse as it goes along, but when every game is still a 9/10 or better you realize how much that statement means nothing at all.

While it doesn't quite hit as hard as the first 2 games in the series, Impostor Factory still reaches emotional heights well beyond those of most games. It also answers some of the questions you may have had from the preceding games. I can't say much more without spoiling it, but if you liked To the Moon and Finding Paradise, you'll probably like this too (despite the different narrative structure).

This game by far was the most complex (In terms of storyline) in the series (It is also the last one in it by far, so make sure to play "To the moon + 2 minisodes", "a bird story","Finding paradise" in this order so that you can understand what's going on easier). Overall this entry explains a lot of unanswered questions players might had from previous games. But, as all the games made before by this studio, it's certainly worth playing if you are looking for a good and catching story with a pleasing pixel art style and straightforward gameplay :D

It was good. Maybe not as good as To The Moon, but good nevertheless. Be prepared for a lot of jokes that sometimes fall flat, but the story is engaging and the characters are charming. I even teared up a little at the end.

Jeu relativement court. Merci.

Was a solid story game, the addition of jogging was the cherry on top.

Great game. "To the Moon" is the best but this one also has a good story and music. Just be warned this has very little game play. You just walk and pick up some things. The story just unfolds as you do things. You can play this one then To the Moon or vice versa. There story is connected. I give it 7.5 just because there is very little gameplay. If I rate it for just the story and connection to "To the Moon" it's a 8/10 for me.

If you've played this game, then I sure hope you have played the others by Freebird games. All of the games have been fantastic and this is no exception. Beautiful pixel art, cute characters, powerful narrative, emotional music, and its all wrapped up in a package that can be played in a sitting or two. It has been a few years since I played another of the games in this series and I just finished this one 5 minutes ago, but this one hit me pretty hard so I wouldn't be surprised if this was my favourite game in the series so far. A must play fi you have already played the others in the series!
