An entertaining turn-based combat game for those who have played Battle Brothers, X-Com, Gloomhaven and Divinity to death. Your party of 3-6 characters travels around a map, fighting battles, levelling up, getting loot and acquiring mutators which give added skills or bonuses. On each map you’re searching for the boss that you will have to defeat to move on to the next level. There’s no time pressure though, you can spend as long as you want on each level taking on fight after fight. There’s not much story to the game and only a few random events that influence combat. For the most part the entire game is about tactical combat on a grid of hexes. This is highly entertaining, with several neat tactical twists. For example if you have characters on both sides of an enemy your attacks are automatically critical hits. If you have ranged characters close by they’ll support your melee attacks with bonus attacks. You can also stun enemies by shoving them off high places or ...

Story
The game world is a place of toil, suffering and darkness. There are no elves, dwarfs, dragons or other classical fantasy creatures. There are some light magical elements, but no overwhelmingly powerful sorcerers either.
Many centuries past, Giants roamed the world, living peacefully alongside humans until the war between the two species left the Giants extinct. Some years ago, a cabal of scientists discovered a process to extract the Life Essence of the ancient Giants from their bones.
This mystical fluid promised to cure many different diseases, mend grievous wounds, and perhaps even halt the aging process. Unfortunately, instead of improving the health of the subject, very often the serum would have the opposite effect, inflicting a mutation or lethal disease. Until the exact nature of this wondrous medicine can be determined, experiments on unwilling subjects continue.
The story begins when the main character, Urtuk, escapes from the Sanatorium, a facility where these experiments are carried out on abducted commoners. Urtuk suffered a severe mutation from his exposure to the Life Essence, and with every passing day his health worsens. Now he wanders the world in search of a cure. Unless he can find a way to counter his evolving mutation, Urtuk must eventually die.

Отличная игра, реиграбельность довольно большая, классов много.
It's great game, but I highly recommend playing on high difficulty level - it's very unforgiving, but there is something very satisfying when you win battle after using all advantages you can utilize (ground preparing, healing, chokes, edges etc). It's style reminds me of Darkest Dungeon, but gameplay is quite different. Keep in mind I played some early version, i don't know its current state exactly, but from what I see I have feeling that it stayed challenging AND satisfying. I really didn't expect it would keep me for so long, lol. EDIT: Javelinier in a team is a must! Engineer the way to the win!
The sort of game that once you figure out the mechanics is perfect for playing while listening to podcasts.
challenging and addictive. a bit glitchy but doesn't really impact play
