About This Game

Overview

In the year 2049 at the peak of the Second Cold War, an all-out conflict between N.A.T.O and the Russia-China alliance is about to break out. In the midst of the tension, an enigmatic incident sends the world into an apocalyptic war. Nightmarish creatures of unknown origin suddenly begin to appear, plunging the world into terror and chaos. A young American pilot, Ethan, is caught in the middle of it all, as untold horrors break out on the surface of the planet. He will have to battle endless hordes of monsters in his Mobile Armor, a powerful customizable Mech.

Single-Player Campaign

See the story through the eyes of an ace pilot. Fight for humanity’s survival through 20 campaign missions, working as a part of the N.A.T.O forces. Be part of large-scale operations, pushing your Mobile Armors to the brink of their capabilities. Choose your Mech and engage hundreds of bizarre creatures in epic battles, gaining weapons, equipment and resources along the way to upgrade and customize your Mech.

Deep Mech Customization

Engage the enemy on your terms! Develop an all-round Mech, built to do everything at once, or specialize it, allowing for devastating long-range barrages of high-velocity guns, or get up close with double-gatling guns. Choose from among a wide variety of mechs and weapons.
Customize over 20 elements of your Mobile armour. Equip unique parts such as mine throwers, air support modules or weapon cooling systems.

About the developer

This is a one-man passion-project. Mecha Knights is my attempt to create the Mech game I always wanted to play. I've wanted to combine the elements from games like Armored Core, Front Mission, Earth Defence Force and even Resident Evil, in an apocalyptic war theme that could be seen in anime series such as Muv:Luv and Blue Gender. A game where it's not just you, the player, that is winning the whole war as a one-man army, but rather that you take part in larger operations – where you and your allies fight hundreds of enemies. A game where extensive customization and progression allows you to develop your own Mech, while the game keeps you engaged with the story of the soldiers.

Feels like a love letter to MuvLuv and a glimpse to what Project Mickhail should have been. I am amazed that this was developed by one person. You have my sincere gratitude my friend, I played your gain straight for over 2 days. The gameplay was exactly what I was looking for. The overall plot and the direction of the war was realistic, Mission variation and Weapons are also very cool. I only have three gripes: 1. I have is the hit or miss drop catch of gear, would be much better if you could trade or buy the pieces you want. 2. The enemies are buggy, some of them walk to walls for no apparent reason bypassing their targets, Some just spin around, kills immersion. 3. The dialogue, ranging for jarring, out of tone to just plain weird it just feels like something AI wrote. I write novels for a living, and I offer my services to you for free, just so I can collaborate on this or the next MKN. Still, a very awesome game. Kudos!

scratched the armored core itch with success. I feel a mecha knight itch now. I like how corny characters are. An outstanding game for a one-man creation. Single-handedly made it to the scanty list of worth-while mech games. WOW and true. BIG recommend

This was all made by one person.. this game has hours upon hours of content, a fleshed out weapon collection system, many enemy variations, different game modes, allies and a whole narrative to go along with it! The game is well worth it at full price let alone a sale, I am also looking forward to the next game!

To some extend I like the game, but there's plenty of problems with it that make me feel conflicted. The voiceacting is inconsistent in terms of quality and the writing is all over the place, with an unnecessary amount of swears that really ruin the mood. The gameplay is relatively decent, focusing primarily on resource management and crowd control, although it becomes quite mindless at some points, and once you have a solid build there isn't many twists that change this that much. The finale is also pretty underwhelming, I assume it is that way to incentivise players to purchase the DLC, which seems to expand on the story, but I personally find that a bit of a scummy move, since it just makes the base game feel unfinished, specially when you can clearly see in the menus there are unlockable tier 3 weapons, but you can't really obtain them in any way. Last but not least, the game seems to have computer-generated content? I unfortunately can't find any information in the matter, but the...

Really fun. Controls are tight, mechs are cool, and mowing down hundreds of enemies is satisfying. It does get a bit repetitive as you go on but there's only so much one man can do. The story and dialogue are not what you'd call amazing, but it gives it the vibe of an old B Movie which I find charming. Really quite impressive for a one-man passion project.

I'm a simple man. I like shooting zombies. And I like big mechas. This game has you shooting hordes of zombies from inside a big mecha. There's some jank to the AI and the enemy animations aren't the smoothest, but 16$ is more than a fair price for a good time like this! Edit: 5 hours into the game, and this really does play like if Armored Core 6 was remade by an indie studio as a zombie slaughtering mobile suit. So far it is exactly what it says on the tin, and exactly what I wanted.

Very well put together cheap game, easy upgrades, plenty missions, raid mode, decent graphics, easy controls and good audio. If you like mechs and 1 v xxxx (options let you scale enemy numbers very high) then this is a great game.

ATTACK ON EDF-CORE So, I've actually been meaning to write a Mecha Knights: Nightmare review for ages and with the sequel in production I'd figured I'd see if my little review could bolster numbers up of this underrated, solo developed, impressive indie third person shooter with 20 fun filled, intense, chaotic levels. First things first, if you love the EDF series, chances are you will LOVE this game as I did. The game starts off incredibly misleading in a tutorial like an old Armored Core/MechWarrior style mech game with two nations attacking another. Then all of a sudden, the EDF'ness kicks in, except this time, the type of enemies that flood the level look like grotesque creatures from Attack on Titan and suddenly you find yourself turbo dashing and shooting everything that moves that looks red and otherworldly with your mounted weapons, turning them into paste. The core gameplay is following the directed path for the mission, collecting ammo, energy packs and upgrades or parts f...
