The game bears considerable resemblance to titles such as "Crisis in the Kremlin", though I'd say it still isn't as deep. With that said, it explores an extremely interesting and often overlooked period of political history - the 2014 events in Ukraine. The game takes place in the immediate prelude to the Euromaidan movement, as the player is placed at the head of Ukraine in the run-up to the signing of the EU association treaty, the rejection of which by former Ukranian President Viktor Yanukovich triggred the start of the movement. It's quite curious that the game goes out of it's way to avoid naming Ukraine directly - though once the main menu pops up the setting is already very clear - we're in Ukraine, and we're in 2014. As in Crisis in the Kremlin, the player gets to decide the fate of the country trough budgetary alterations, responses to events, legislative changes, a fairly in-depth parliamentary mechanic and HoI4-style national focus system. What the game lacks, though,...

8 minutes in and I could already tell I wasted my money. Poorly designed game with a bad UI. Not a simulation at all. Don't waste your money.
Ukraine war simulator, but instead of the people helping you defeat the invader, they begin a maydan to get rid of you
It's like Crisis in the Kremlin, except it's more like you are Ukraine than Russia. Unfortunately the translation is a 'bit' off, and (so far), I've found the game to be so heavily scripted in events that trying to go your own way, even with careful planning, doesn't really work, and you rushed along a path that either agrees with your plans, or clashes and you quickly lose (or so that's my experience so far). Great Game, easy to grasp especially after they added the tutorial. Only complaint is that when you start finishing up the tree, your game crashes constantly.
Absolutely shocking game that there is no tutorial feature in the game. You are left with nothing to even start with of any indication on how to play the game. It is like the devs of Pax Ruthenia want you to spend hours to figure out how to play the game with no help whatsoever. When you play over the time you can not get our refund as you would have played over the limit to get a refund. It seems lazy to not put anything to help the gamers that want to play this game any help to how to play or anything. Do not, I repeat do not waste your money on this game! You be better off playing Papers, Please than play this game. 7 mins in the game and I already got fed up as I have no idea how to play this game without spending hours figuring it myself. You be better off waiting for someone on YouTube to play and watch them play it so you have a better chance in enjoying this game or even knowing what game you getting into before buying it. This game gets a 2/10
After watching the recent Russo-Ukrainian War, I became interested in Ukrainian politics and played this game, but in conclusion, I was very disappointed with this game. Rather than making players play a leading role in politics, the game forces players to find "appropriate answers" for each event in every national focus routes(pro-European, pro-Russian, and nationalist fascists), and players should passively find the right answers. Otherwise, players will lose a presidential election or be impeached by the parliament, or the capital will be occupied by protesters and so on. And the game is over. Even the events are repeated over and over, so the more you play, the less interesting you get, and basically the overall UI and variables are "unrealistic, not political, not economical." When I played the game many times, I finally found the successful answer and what-to-do pattern and eventually I could finish the game successfully, but this process made me very ang...
