Frankly the game was a lot better before the story update ages back. I'm not really sure at all why they put effort into an extremely tiring and eye rolling story in a game like this instead of expanding the gameplay and the ship options more.

Very fun game, my only complaints would be the lack of ship variety and the fact that it's too easy once you get the hang of things and all the upgrades. I would like more challenging ships - situations where there is no safe disassembly method and you have to do seriously sketchy stuff and hope it all works out in the end. (also add more communism)
Came back after a couple years to play funny ship game again. Was given a boring socialism story with characters that fit the bill. Was fun when it was just salvaging ships and discovering little logs about the greater world and and a horrifying Machine God lurking out there turning people into nodes. Now its incessant chatter from NPC's about politics I couldn't care less about who I just want to shut up.
I really want to recommend this game, I really do. The gameplay is absolutely phenomenal, and balances the high-risk pressure of working in a dangerous environment under a time pressure with the zen-like mental state of methodically disassembling a Lego set perfectly. The loop of salvaging smaller ships to get access to new toys that let you scrap the bigger models keeps you playing for just one more shift. The atmosphere (despite the vacuum) is impeccable, with a perfect future-dystopia, working-class feel, with the scratchy Americana music and the soft southern drawl of the radio operator being the Icing on the cake. Everything about the gameplay just screams polish and care, and I had a grand time in early access with all the new ships and tools. But the STORY! Dear GOD what an awful trashfire of shoehorned, political, ludonarrative dissonance! Its like the person who wrote it had never actually played the game and just wanted to make a statement about capitalism. From what I hear...
Great game, i could just put this on and listen to my audiobook. Feels similar to power wash sim
Don't spend more than 10 dollars, wait for a sale. The game has some of the most fun gameplays in gaming Organized Destruction. The problem? The story literally holds you at gun point and forces you to listen to it spew at you in order to get back to the gameplay. No one likes the story, and no one likes not being able to skip it. The gameplay is amazing the Story is nonsense, and the story is a literal wall between you and the gameplay.
Downvote until there is a way to report Lou at the very beginning of the game to get her killed and stop wasting my time yapping with poorly written dialogue.
Fun game, BUT OH MY GOD LET ME SKIP DIALOGUE I DONT CARE THAT YOUR DAUGHTER WANTS TO BE A SINGER I DONT CARE I DONT CARE FUCK YOUR UNION I JUST WANNA BREAK SHIPS. FUCK YOU LOU IM BEING LEFT ALONE BY CORPORATE BECAUSE I DONT FUCK UP!!! AND GUESS WHAT? YOUR LITTLE UNION BS DIDNT DO ANYTHING! IT WAS ALL FOR NAUGHT! CORPORATE DIDNT GET HELD ACCOUNTABLE! I hate Lou. She is so fucking annoying, and I cannot skip her. The activism story is tacky and feels very forced and unnatural. It disrupts the game-play by locking me out of PLAYING THE GAME while I listen to something I don't care about
DEV ARE BACK!! Make game more fun again. need more type of ship to scrapp.. new side mission to do like deliver stuff to union for certain thing or group for support. or build new stuff from scrap item
It was fun but it gets repetitive and the 'you work for someone and they don't value your life' thing is a bit overboard.
