If 1984 and Animal Farm had a baby, it would be called White Shadows. If I was asked to come up with a tag line for this game, that would be it. This is very much a George Orwell-inspired creation, one that is just as harrowing and impactful. You are given a clear message of what this game contains when you open it up, listing warnings such as racism, animal cruelty, slavery, and more. It's far from a happy experience, but I think that is easy to tell from the screenshots. In fact, the screenshots are the reason I bought this game. Not because of those horrible things I mentioned, but because of the presentation. The visuals are incredible, and they are even better in motion. The world of White Shadows is brutally convincing. It is disturbing and tense from start to finish, and the sound design is downright terrifying at times. While occasional gameplay jank can interfere with the immersion, for the most part, I was completely hooked. It is a simple game, and that is something wor...

About This Game

White Shadows is a cinematic puzzle-platformer where you play as a little Ravengirl trying to escape a brutal dystopia founded on oppression and violence that puts her at the bottom of its hierarchical social ladder.
Composed of a vast network of towers rising from the void of post-catastrophe darkness into the sky above, the city our young adventurer seeks to escape is a dangerous place to be. She will have to find ways to avoid the teeth of machinery primed to grind her into dust, leap across rickety infrastructure that bridges the cavernous darkness all around and avoid the watchful eyes of guards ready to gun her down. She will travel to the city’s brightest highs and delve to its darkest depths on her journey, discovering her destiny among the last free people alive.
White Shadows’ striking architectural forms and stunning monochrome art style combine to create a place steeped in atmosphere. It’s a world where the lies of the elite are plastered across its walls, where twisted forms of entertainment are used to keep everyone in their place, and where hope seems in short supply.

- A visually stunning and narratively rich dystopian setting with a distinctive art style
- Varied puzzle platforming with unique scenarios that keep things fresh
- An exciting personal story combined with social critique
- A simple and intuitive control scheme

It’s eh. For the price you pay, I wouldn’t even recommend it on a discount. The platforming was just plain boring and the pacing too slow for me. Sometimes you literally need to fail the platform just so you know what is coming next and have to redo it all over again. At one point you also spend like a minute climbing up stairs. The stairs aren’t the issue. It’s how slow you move up them and how slow you move in general. I was interested at the beginning but it lost me less than half way in. I get what it’s trying to accomplish with the story but it fell short. If you’re doing something that’s been done before, you either need to do it well or add a different spin to make it interesting which unfortunately I don’t think this game accomplished either. I played it through to give it a chance and unfortunately can't recommend it.
The problem of racism and some other social problems is revealed very beautifully and dirty.I can say that this is one of my favorite games in this genre and in my opinion it is in no way inferior to LIMBO, a game you want to return to, you live the plot with the main character, there are a lot of problems and everything is revealed magnificently. I highly recommend the game, it's really worth the time you spend.
guys if you know games like this please tell me Thanks , idk what to say about this game Its just amazing
I did like this game, but it does have its problems if you enjoy little nightmares and inside you will have somewhat of a watered down experience all the same I loved the atmosphere and the story that you learn as you play. p.s.: make sure you make the right decisions in this game, I've heard there's a good ending, not sure :p
10/10
weird story it could have had harder puzzles and riddles, but still, it wasn’t bad.
I don’t usually play a lot of games and I’m very picky when it comes to choosing them. But this game was one of the best I’ve ever played. It was so meaningful and deeply impressed me. Since peace of mind is really important to me, I have to say this game was incredibly calming. I sincerely hope a second version of this game will come out. Thank you.
it takes patience to enjoy this game but i enjoyed it very much even if it was a bit rough at some points. Good atmosphere and sound design but gameplay and puzzles can seem a bit hollow at times.
Awesome story
