About This Game

Nijowari: Where Angels Fall takes place in a not-so-distant dystopian future where the demise of a major international power has made the world tumble, ultimately forcing it to evolve or die.

Experience this broken world through the eyes of William and Adeia, survivor and victim of what is now an unforgiving reality. Will they be able to cast some light on the darkness that surrounds them?

Overview

Nijowari: Where Angels Fall is a rich, kinetic visual novel with two main characters, each one with its own story and its own life.

Follow our heroes' steps in this daring mix of plot-driven and slice-of-life visual novel with heavy character development, an enticing yet dangerous world, and hard-hitting special effects.

William Steele

"I was just an ordinary kid when my world blew up."

William Steele, a young man with a calling and our first main character, discovers that his region is home and that it is worth protecting.

Bent on helping his community, he ends up becoming a "fixer", a counselor, and sometimes a friend, always driven to help people who deserve it.

Adeia Berith

"It's not time to overthink... It's time to enjoy!"

Adeia Berith, our second main character, is a coy, fearful, and innocent newcomer to Nijowari, a strange city with a peculiar society.

Trusting the world she's about to enter is as gentle as her, she's forced to find her way, ultimately discovering a dark reality nobody knew existed.

Along the way, both William and Adeia meet a cast of supporting characters that change their fates, for the better and the worse.

The writing varies from bad to terrible. Some scenes happen too fast to make any realistic sense - for example, the first protagonist going from nobody to figurehead of a resistance movement in a couple of hours. Some other scenes are overly written. For example, the garden scene was boring and 10 times longer than necessary to convey the information / feelings it was supposed to give the player. The setting itself looked promising, but unfortunately, the story doesn't develop it at all, focusing instead on the three bland characters of the second part.

I haven't played VN a long time ago, and i have to say that im satisfied so far with this one. To be one of the first games of this company, the quality of the scenarios, the effects, and the storytelling if far from any expectations. My review its only for the first story for now, an a american distopical future where the very great American Republic, once a "defender of the democracy in the world" face a very dark times. EEEEH fucking amazing pls. As far as i can tell its worth the price for sure. If you like VN type of games and want and like to support new and small developers, you know what to do ;))

SLICE OF LIFE IN A NOT DISTANT FUTURE This game is divided in 2 main parts: the first is focused on a retro futuristic historical insight of the events which holds the basis of the place where the second takes part. Highly recomended for those who like historical movies/books, global crisis and rise and fall of the nations. It is not my case, but for those who don't, I don't recomend to skip it, as this part holds the key of some important facts and events related to the second part (yes, it is a complex story, I've read it twice). The second part of the game is the one which I enjoied the most. It is a slice of life set in a not-distant future utopia wich deals with the introduction of light cyberpunk stuff. It goes deep inside into the human (and not human) mind: the thoughts and feelings described are the closest you can get to be another person, and I think it is the strongest point of the game. Don't expect a calmed easy slice of life; this one goes beyond with the feelings an...

I really got sucked into this one, more so the second story with Adeia and Gaiane. Their story was a lot longer than William's introduction, which was very political but entertaining. Adeia's was much more heart wrenching, as it dealt with abuse (mostly verbal), so it's kind of a hard read if you're already sensitive to that. There were some good moments too, and me and my gf had fun playing around w/ theories that later proved to be true. I mostly liked Adeia's story most because of the setting. You get robots, body modification (cat girls), self-driving cars, robot cashiers...the works. It's a great VN for sci-fi lovers! On top of that, the music and art were very good! I really appreciate that there's an in-game music player! Was happy to learn I could play Seeds of Chaos on repeat. Also that ending -- really leaves you wanting for more. There's a plot point mentioned near the very end that had me hoping they'd use it, but alas. Hopefully means a sequel? Cause I'd love a happy en...
