About This Game

This is the Super Meat Boy of Spider-Man experiences. This is for all you hard-core swingers out there. Here the ropes are tight, the curves are smooth and the concrete WILL keep punishing your face until you get it right.

Features

  • Time trial: Get through the level as fast as you can and make sure to grab 3 stars all the way.
  • Unleash your creativity: If you can bend the rules of physics and game design to find unusual routes to the goal, then fine, you win.
  • Ultra-realistic physics: No-compromise swing mechanics. We even threw fun out the window for the sake of realism.
  • Master the skills: That wall ain't going to avoid you hitting itself.
  • Beat your friends: Inflict pain on your dearest of friends by sending that oh-so-sweet screenshot of your score above theirs.
  • Beat the world: If you are truly masochistic, put friends and family aside while you stride for the top of the leaderboards.

I bought this because I was sick of the Unbreakable Gumball not being out with Index support yet and I thought maybe it would satisfy the itch. This buggy mess didn't. Quickly the biggest issue became relevant, the majority of the textures in game do not match the space they actually take up, so you're web slinging from nothing but air if you get to the top of the buildings. In free mode I was able to get under the city and have all the ground textures disappear. The one thing Unbreakable Gumball could benefit to learn from this title, is showing the direction you are going and making it changeable based on arm movement immediately. This was of course overshadowed in Swinger-Man as the Death Symbol was crashing me into the middle of air multiple times outside of buildings are I made tight turns. Going to be a hard pass and a refund for me, go get the Unbreakable Gumball and scratch the itch better while saving the 10$ to afford to see Baby Yoda this month.

Saw this game hoping that it would be better than the Spiderman Far From Home game (which is really just awful, but i found it fun enough even though the swinging could have been so much better). SO i wanted a really good, momentum-based swinging game. But im stuck at the main menu. Everything is tinted purple. I can open and close the Challenges menu by tapping Y (rift s). I can see my hands and the fingers move, but theres no way to select options on the menu. No other button does anything. So disappointed. I hope this gets resolved, I really wanted to try this. I'll try it again tomorrow, maybe there is a patch that can fix this. Only hitting 'not recommend' because i have to choose one in order to post review, but ill prolly remove this review if nothing changes. Please, i want to play so bad!!! EDIT: The game is working now, and it is pretty sweet! handles a lot different than the spiderman game, but i think for the better. It may take a bit to get used to the controls, but what...

Pros -The swinging while hard to get use to is amazing. Cons -The Map, kind of a massive issue. Half of the buildings are way too short to swing off of. I'd recommend way more skyscrapers and maybe some cranes or something to swing off of. The borders look super bad but it wasn't enough to stop me having fun. Some kind of water or something instead of endless grass fields would probably be better. -No movement options other than swinging. I'd like to be able to sprint and jump around, bounce off walls. -Nothing to do but swing. I wouldn't mind this so much if the map and swinging were a little better. You can compete in time trial races but they aren't super enjoyable for me. Gorilla tag type multiplayer would be perfect Wow, finally a VR game that isn't afraid to make people violently ill. I've got dozens upon dozens of hours in VR and I've developed quite the gut. Turning off all the comfort settings and trying to swing around nearly killed me. I fell over twice and nearly thre...

It's a good game, but there are a lot of better swinging VR games out there with more to them than just swinging around a city. You also can't really play this game for longer than 10 minutes without getting sick.
