About This Game

In a dystopian future where corporations rule, a brutal reality show is the hottest entertainment property in town! You play as Scarlett Martillo, a contestant out for revenge. To win, you must navigate dangerous urban arenas packed with lethal traps and face off against hordes of heavily-armed psychopaths.

Each stage in Showgunners has been hand-crafted to create a curated, turn-based tactical gameplay experience, heightened with the inclusion of a diabolical show director that can hinder Scarlett or help her opponents depending on your performance. This dynamic level design ensures that no two levels play the same way and keep players thinking tactically. Showgunners has been built to challenge and delight players, whether they’re a turn-based tactical game initiate or a long-time fan of the genre!

Scarlett won’t be fighting alone. As the story progresses, players will recruit new partners that can turn the tide of battle in all kinds of exciting ways. Upgrade your characters by spending talent points in their unique skill trees and outfitting them with weapons bought at a shop or earned during battle. Hidden challenges within each chapter can unlock more allies, legendary weapons, and helpful items, so be sure to keep an eye out!

Players will need to navigate an obstacle course of deadly traps and lethal puzzles in real-time, but be prepared for an ambush at any corner. Psychopathic enemies like the Ogre and the Ronin aren’t the only deadly elements you’ll need to overcome. Combat scenarios are peppered with unique environmental hazards, from ticking time bombs to runaway trains. There is never a dull moment in Showgunners!

Gain fame by avoiding death, surviving rounds, and eliminating your enemies with gruesome panache. The more you succeed, the more fans you earn; your growing fame will yield increasingly beneficial sponsorship deals.

Streamers, rejoice! Use the native Twitch integration to keep audiences engaged by letting them control the direction of each level. They can add more enemies, change the terrain, add or remove obstacles, or send useful items, all from chat.

What a great find this game is! I've been playing it non-stop for two days now. The best way I can describe it is comfort food XCOM with a Running Man twist. The story is light but well-paced and the action is fun and accessible. I'm going to be playing more from this developer!

I .. really don't get how this game reached 'overwhelmingly positive' rating. It has a certain charm, sure; the styling is good, the storyline, while incredibly clunky, has a certain amount of consistency. But. There are two game loops - walking through a maze in 'real time' between missions, which is just slow and boring and repetitive, and you _have_ to search every corner or suffer a very real disadvantage in the main game, and the turn based arenas which are pretty good. Bad: - The walking simulator part slows play to a crawl - The game crashes every time I try to equip a hand grenade to the main character - The storyline is hamfisted and occasionally infuriating. - The mentor npc gets offed by a random grenade during a scripted scene - At least one of the missions pretty early on seems unsolvable, as an add comes running from behind exploding the entire level, from a spot you cannot reach. Good: - Pretty good tactical combat - Really dystopian setting, e...

Showgunners – A Brutal, Blood-Soaked Blast of Tactical Fun ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) I just wrapped up Showgunners, and I’ve got to say—it was an absolute ride from start to finish. If you're a fan of turn-based tactics with personality, grit, and a lot of explosions, this game delivers in spades. The setting is pure dystopian spectacle: imagine XCOM meets Running Man, wrapped in neon and corporate bloodlust. You play as Scarlett, a tough-as-nails contestant fighting through deadly televised arenas where every battle is a performance, every kill earns fame, and every step could be your last. The commentary? Darkly hilarious. The traps and dynamic hazards? Nerve-wracking and brilliant. What stood out for me: ✅ Combat is tight and satisfying – Easy to pick up, but deep enough to stay engaging all the way through. The action point system felt balanced, and I appreciated the guaranteed melee hits—it kept momentum going in tough fights. ✅ The level design is e...

If this game intended to be annoying then it's a masterpiece. Tedious , repetitive, boring.

For any fan of the tactical side of Xcom, this is a real treat. Play it on hard, otherwise it is a bit too easy for my taste. Very fun game. Nice simple story. 7/10 she got NO ASS

Def not worth the full 30$, but for sure worth at least 15$ and sales dip below that so it's all good. Xcom but replace base building with open world exploration. Cute little puzzles and once you get further in the game a nicely varied roster of challengers to choose from. Story isn't winning any awards but it is enough to stick things together (most of the time)
Most of the other challengers don't actually have motivation for the final mission (Esp the robot that should have gotten turned off at some point?)
All in all, worth playing at least once was a good time and the free DLC added about 5 hours of playtime.

Felt like I was back in the Gauntelet of Nuka-World while maneuvring my characters in an XCOM-lite gameplay. Simple and straigth-forward, I have to say the balance between puzzles, map completion and battles made it a breeze to go through. Finding all the lootboxes isn't too hard but not braindead either. 8/10

Man... This game was amazing! Gameplay is highly addictive! Turn based strategy where each character has different move sets and strengths and weaknesses. Also, just when I thought the story was going to be predictive and obvious, it makes a left turn and kept me engaged! I really liked the whole dystopian setting where to make money and escape a prison sentence, you have to go through a hunger games/battle Royale scenario. Such a hidden gem, go play this game now! Plays great on steam deck!

Fantastic game. If you liked XCOM: Chimera Squad you will love this one. DLC levels are little grindy but still ok.

What a great game I play on normal, its easy game for me personaly if you have more experience in tactical turn based I recommended on Hard difficulty (you can change difficulty mid playtrought) The world is very intriguing, dystopian world meets show about killing each other for a prize Story bit simplistic but its ok, the gameplays carry it until the end (not long game, my records after finishing it is only 15 hours)
