Gorgeous turd. It starts with a dump. An exposition dump with beautiful pictures. Then a map loads, and the models and colours are superb. Then you start playing (the tutorial) and everything falls apart. The UI is a who's who of bad designs and insuperable bugs: - Worst of all, the units don't respond. That's hopefully a bug. They get stuck, show nonsensical paths through and around buildings, and new commands don't affect them. - Group movement isn't functional. Individuals will choose ridiculous paths you couldn't see coming, apparently because of obstacles. This can lead to stuck units as described above. - Scratch that: Individual orders lead to the same problems anyway. - The command system is a mess. It lacks info and feedback, but it's hard to say if it's unresponsive or buggy. At the very least, it requires to get uses to it. - Big absentee: The UNDO command. Can't find one. A TBS without an Undo command, that doesn't make any sense. What is the point of the "End Turn" ...

About This Game

Take the lead of the small group of rebels fighting their way out from the evil corporation!
Play the story from level to level, use the skill tree to train and assemble your team for each fight! Find parts, build mechs to take them with you to the battle! Find civilian rebels and let them join you in the fight against evil!

The game tells the gripping story of the daring rebellion of Sophie von Eschenbach, the ‘Rose of Freedom’ against the Yamagami corporation - a faceless organization from the East, hell-bent on complete efficiency and productivity. It has strong roots in established classics but adds its own individual twist to the well-known formula.

You can control many characters, from brave Rose Militia members who have taken up arms against the evil Yamagami Corporation, to powerful steam robots, renegade enemy soldiers, and even the main heroes of the game. Use the skill tree to level up characters and assemble your army for each battle.
Once you select a character, you can command them to move, run, look around, place a sentry, or open fire on the enemy - the choice is yours.
However, be wary that your opponent is a skilled strategist, and they’ll be looking at every opportunity to exploit your mistakes, flank you, and take the upper hand in battles.

STRATEGIES
To counter this, make sure to approach each battle with a well-planned strategy in mind.
Since the game isn’t hex or square-based, use the extra freedom to position your troops in just the right place to get the upper hand on the enemy, and crush them.
You can also exploit the endless possibilities offered by the terrain and quickly gain a strategic advantage by taking control of the high ground or using buildings for cover. In fact, that’s one of the best ways to level the playing field and fight back against Yamagami’s superior numbers.
Remember, you’re part of a desperate rebellion… leverage the surprising power of guerilla tactics. Just make sure you always cover your back because the Yamagami will often send in reinforcements to overpower you. Don’t let them - this is your fight to win!

User Reviews
This game is quite simply not very good. You're outnumbered, have weaker pieces, and the story mode is entirely linear. Pretty much every claim made on the store page is false, you never get to control more than eight models at a time.
