Very boring, tedious fights. Game got tiring after a few hours. If you enjoy stunning a dinosaur and shooting its weak points for 10 seconds, then repeating the process over and over, then you'll like this game.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a strange game to me - it has so much potential and it can be really hard to pin-point why I don't like it or want to play it. The gameplay isn't terrible, the graphics are obviously pretty decent and the concept behind the story is great. However, when all is said and done, I find the game non-engaging, the story too bland to care about and the protagonist stuck somewhere between unlikable and shallow. Horizon ZD is like playing a Young Adult novel in a way. It's the same sort of characters, a fairly bland protagonist that the reader/player can transpose their own traits unto, a dystopian world where teenagers are the only hope against a corrupted, lost society and pretty weak character arcs based on predestined properties like a prophecy or in this case, special genes that are humanity's only hope. And I guess that's what turns me off. I don't really care that much about anyone in the story, including Aloy herself, and then the game has to be carried ...

I played every minute of this on my Steam Deck. The experience wasn't always perfect, but it was fun and completely playable. The story is great. I enjoyed the mechanics, side quests, etc. I just wish my Steam Deck could handle the 2nd game!

Deliberate Deception (minor spoiler) GRAPHICS At first glance, the visuals seem impressive — environments, effects, and overall style look solid. But after a while, the plastic look of the characters becomes hard to ignore. Even main characters lack believable facial expressions. Scars look like someone sliced dough with a knife. On the surface, it’s fine — but look closer, and it feels cheap and rushed. DIALOGUES Flat, dull, and often silly. Emotional delivery feels like high school theater. Dialogue choices (fist, brain, heart) exist, but they only affect one or two lines of NPC response. After a few hours, you’ll probably start skipping everything but the last reply. Shallow and empty. STORY There’s no real intrigue — it plays out like a stitched-together collection of clichés. The game literally starts like The Lion King — the girl is held up before the tribe. Then, she runs off crying and “accidentally” falls into a giant u...

It's an instant classic. Great visuals. Fascinating story with deep lore. The world was carefully crafted with great designs and atmosphere. Music is great as well. The MC has instantly become one of my favourites from the past few years. The enemy variety is insane. And with great designs as well. Gameplay is varies with lots of weapons available to suit your style of playing. 10/10

Very very beautiful. I think it rewired my brain into having new (and higher) standards for art in video games.

The scenery and adventures are good but that's about it. The rest is crap. It's stupid to make a game without some sort of reward system for completing quest or saving a king. The only benefit you get is from what you can loot or some stupid box that you hope to get something good out of. Constantly you have to pay attention to your surroundings because aiming is ridiculous when all you see is a weed or something else in your field of view just before you die because you missed your shot. I'll still play because of exploring but other games are much better.

The game really wants you to care about it's story, but there is so much terrible writing and poor voice performances you likely never will. It's painful to experience.

I won't recommend Horizon Zero Dawn because I didn't really like it, but I don't think it's a bad game in itself. Let's start with the positives. The game is very very good looking visually. You can stop and look at the view pretty much anytime and be like : waw that's beautiful. The combat against the robots are also very good because they aren't just an HP bar : you can break things, make some components explode, and even use their own weapons against them. This kind of interaction is very cool and well thought, making the combats feel less repetitive . The musics are also really great and I enjoyed the setting of the game. Some characters are also pretty nicely done even if it's not the case for every single one of them. Now, it seems great but, what did I dislike ? First of all, the game is beautiful but there is very little rewards for exploration. Yes of course you'll find components here and there, but it's far from what I've saw in other open world games like Elden Ring which...
