Gloomwood

After 3 years of actively following but only occasionally playing Gloomwood, I can say with absolute certainty I still recommend Gloomwood even in Early Access. For any fan of stealth, atmosphere, or imsims, Gloomwood is a must-play. For all other players, it's still a must-play Updates, while understandably few and far between, are packed with new areas and content and the team consistently re-addresses older content/areas with tweaks, improvements, and additional surprises. I have overall very little time in this game because I mainly wait to replay the entire game with each new content chunk but each time I pick this game up I get sucked right back in like I never left. Movement and stealth are natural, but enemy numbers/danger levels tend to lean towards the easier side of things but still feel decently balanced. I tend to be the "kill everything" player and I wish each enemy commanded a little more respect, but various difficulty levels can solve this (I play on the second-high...

Immersive to an insane degree. Whoever is looking for great interactivity with simple mechanics will enjoy this game a bunch.

It starts as a nice stealth game like Thief, but the more it goes on, the more it starts getting boring.

Incredible, I honestly have no other words for it. Feels like a classic thief styled game

Perfect blend of survival-horror and immersive sim. +Amazing atmosphere +Saving system is perfect, no save-scumming enhances the experience, gives weight to exploration. +Good level design, nice variety of environments -Combat, ranged or close quarters is not deep, but it was never the point anyways. Weapons feel really good though. -Pacing might not be everyone's cup of tea, with coming back to gather treasure and research slowing down the game a bit. I personally like it a lot, friction is not always bad but here you go. Overall perfect game for me, can't wait to play 1.0. Worth it in EA too in case you're on the fence.

I absolutely love the pacing of this game, its like old school resident evil games but in a FPS format, there's also a very good amount of depth that comes with this game and I'm here for it!

Maybe i'm misunderstanding something but when i picked the 2nd easiest difficulty i expected the game to be more or less easy, and at first it was until i left the main building of the fishery. I spent more time than i'd wished trying to get through the dock because of how open it is (so using guns becomes too dangerous), how many enemies there are and how scarce healing items are I only managed to get to the next area when I found a different route, but at that point i just wasn't enjoying the game due to constantly dying

With ever increasing updates and QOL improvements this game is shaping up to be one of the best games I've played through more than 5 times, and someone with as short of an attention span as mine, that it is quite an accomplishment for a game.
