A Test of Patience, Not Enjoyment
Contains Major Spoilers This was actually my third time starting Omori from the beginning. This time, I pushed myself to finish it because, honestly, I never would have completed it if it were not for my dear friend Sudowesu ❤️. He recommended Omori to me and guided me through the whole game. We finished it in about 30 hours, but if I had played alone, it would have easily taken 40 or 50. He is also a legend for translating Omori into Turkish!
Story
The story is mostly filler. About 90 percent of the game is filler, and only 10 percent is real story or lore. And most of that story is told at the very end, where it feels rushed and weak. Omori has a promising story and decent characters, but it screws up everything with endless fetch quests, villains that have nothing to do with the story, mindless puzzles and combat, and countless huge walls of text that have nothing t...

I have to confess - four years ago I wanted to play this game, but I was 16 and broke. So, I went and pirated the game on a random Google Drive repository. What I got was one of the most heartbreaking and emotionally compelling stories I've seen both then and now, establishing itself as one of my favorite games ever made. Four years later, I'm reviewing this masterclass of storytelling that I bought for the full $20 list price.
Art and Music
Firstly, the art is great and the soundtrack is just a banger. If OMORI was a steak, these would be the seasonings that bring out the flavor and turn it into a memorable experience. The soundtrack is great from both the overworld segments where it creates a memorable atmosphere (both the good and bad), to the boss battle themes that sound thrilling. The pixel art is good on its own, but I feel that the story is brought out in its fullest by the unique pencil/sketch art that the game is known for. It's a style that has the power to be ver...
Don't interact the with the community. Not even the subreddit. Experience this game COMPLETELY BLIND. You'll thank me later.
The Best Game. The Breaking Bad of games. It's rich in story and you choose your path. 11/10, I would do heinous things to replay this game for the first time. The Omori community is weird but that doesn't deter it from being the best game.
After having thoroughly played this game multiple times, I would say this game heavily suffers from Undertale syndrome, where the game itself is good but all the people who make it part of their personality it are really annoying, thus leading to a sort of bad reputation. Combat in this game is simple but enjoyable, the emotion system gives enough of interest for this game's combat to not be entirely boring and the music and animations are good enough for it to never feel too repetitive. It's got good music, cool environments in headspace, two routes to play on, an interesting story that's fleshed out on different sides of both routes, this game genuinely has quite a lot to offer, my only complaint is that this game is marketed as being a horror game when I feel like the horror sections of this game are too far apart and then just one big dense area for it to work correctly, I like how sometimes the horror will creep up into a random scene it isn't expected to be in, but a lot of the...
One of the best games of all time.
The emotional depth of the plot and its characters is unbelievable, the gameplay is a contrasting yet perfect combination of awesome and emotional. While sometimes the game can feel like a drag with the travelling and somewhat lack of thrilling combat at times, it all ends up building itself perfectly, the game is near perfect.
There simply aren't words to describe the feeling this game gives.
Unfortunately though if you are emotionally dense, you probably won't like or understand the game. Also please try and avoid spoilers at all costs, it will likely ruin the game. Even youtube video titles and thumbnails can spoil everything. Be very careful and dart your eyes the minute you see something OMORI related. Anyways great game please play it 10/10 love y'all and enjoy! ❤️
So majestic....So beautiful.... This game is insanely good. I got hooked on the story within like the first 10 minutes. After beating it, I rewatched the opening scene, and it it made me cry......again. Remember to keep a tissue box near you, because this game will make you cry. Great game. 10/10

It's taken me 34 hours to reach the good (secret) ending on my first playthrough and man, this game makes you go through every emotion, and that's how you know the story is well written. The characters are well designed and so loveable, and the art style is beautiful. The music is really, really good and so is the combat. There's also so much attention to detail, I recommend that you interact with every person and object that you see. I also only have 27/84 achievements so I can imagine there's a lot more to unpack in the different endings of this game, so there's a lot of gameplay. This game raises awareness for people with mental health conditions - and as someone who suffers with some of the ones in this game it's nice to see a game show them in a visual way and highlight how to overcome them. Though in contrast, it shows how disturbing and cruel the human brain can truly be. The game is presented as cheery but has a dark undertone which you must uncover as you progress through th...
