I've already taken a screenshot of this, but this is yet another picross collection where some of the puzzles have multiple possible solutions, but only one is correct. Reference the screenshot if you're not entirely sure what I mean. You should NOT be forced to guess or have to use a hint in order to 100% a level in picross EVER.
"Griddlers Victorian Picnic" is a basic Nonogram game... for those who never played one, it's a kind of grid-deduction-puzzle game, not unlike Minecraft or Sudoku. You're given a grid and a number of numerical clues. You must deduce where the safe places to click are. In a Nonogram, the correct clicks will reveal a small, obviously low resolution image or pattern. Yay, what fun. This is why top of the line gaming PCs costs thousands of dollars, right? The developer, Creobit, has copy + pasted this game an insane FOURTY ONE TIMES... why cash in on one asset if you can cash in on multiple copies of the same game? Asset flipping begins at home! Here's a list of the asset flips of this game that the Russian "developer" is polluting Steam with: [list] [*] Asian Riddles 1, 2, 3 + 4 [*] Christmas Griddlers [*] Christmas Griddlers Journey to Santa [*] Detective Riddles - Sherlock's Heritage 1 + 2 [*] Easter Riddles [*] Egypt Picross Pharaohs Riddles [*] Fill And Cross Christmas Riddl...
This implementation of grid puzzles , nonograms, picrosss, whatever you want to call it, has several flaws. 1 - It is in the school of "ding you for a mistake the moment you misclick "which while newbie friendly is really hostile to people who want to be able to spot their errors and fix them. This is relatively minor. 2 - It also automatically strikes out the numbers according to its own algorithm (which doesn't really line up with whether they are knowable, nor whether they are fully marked). Since it will do this on columns or rows you aren't currently thinking about this can cause errors. This is bad but not insurmountable. 3 - The way it strikes out the numbers makes them INCREDIBLY hard to see, for no good reason at all. They're sufficiently dimmed that determining which number was struck out is VERY hard and you need that information to correctly continue to solve the puzzle. This earns this implementation a failing score.. None of the other titles from this same publis...
As other people have said - these puzzles need to be worked out by logic. These types of puzzles can be really interesting and fun to try to complete. The problem is that logic puzzles like this can only be worked out using the correct amount of clues which the developers have neglected to address. There aren't enough clues to logically work out the solutions which just leads to frustration. Without an adequate number of clues it comes down to guesswork on which squares should be filled and as only two incorrect squares are allowed per puzzle it makes them almost impossible to complete. Very disappointing and frustrating. Nobody minds difficult puzzles but you need something to work with in the form of enough clues but they just aren't there. Can't recommend this game because of this.
The game has a very summery feel to it and love the music. The problem with this one that makes me like it less than many other similar games are the colours. The colour of the crossed out numbers almost blends into the background and many times makes you forget it was even there to begin with = it makes you miscalculate something and make a mistake you wouldn't have if you could see it. And if you want that three star level you have to start over all in vain cause of this.
On some of the puzzles you simply have to guess the correct answer, and that is unacceptable in a puzzle that is supposed to be solvable by logic. I don't mind a hard challenge, as long as the answer is based on the clues given, but when the clues are not sufficient, it just makes the whole experience unenjoyable.
It repeatedly crashed when finishing puzzles without counting them as complete. Only buy this if you like redoing things for no reason.
took a minute to figure out but once that is done I really enjoy the challenges
It's okay. It could be better. You are only allowed to make 1-2 mistakes and that sucks a lot. So only get this game when it is cheap, definitely not worth 5€. I got it for 80cents.
