The god-like rogue-like returns!

About the Game

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant's critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

BATTLE OUT OF HELL

As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you'll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

UNLEASH THE FURY OF OLYMPUS

The Olympians have your back! Meet Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, and many more, and choose from their dozens of powerful Boons that enhance your abilities. There are thousands of viable character builds to discover as you go.

BEFRIEND GODS, GHOSTS, AND MONSTERS

A fully-voiced cast of colorful, larger-than-life characters is waiting to meet you! Grow your relationships with them, and experience thousands of unique story events as you learn about what's really at stake for this big, dysfunctional family.

BUILT FOR REPLAYABILITY

New surprises await each time you delve into the ever-shifting Underworld, whose guardian bosses will remember you. Use the powerful Mirror of Night to grow permanently stronger, and give yourself a leg up the next time you run away from home.

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE

Permanent upgrades mean you don't have to be a god yourself to experience the exciting combat and gripping story. Though, if you happen to be one, crank up the challenge and get ready for some white-knuckle action that will put your well-practiced skills to the test.

SIGNATURE SUPERGIANT STYLE

The rich, atmospheric presentation and unique melding of gameplay and narrative that's been core to Supergiant's games is here in full force: spectacular hand-painted environments and a blood-pumping original score bring the Underworld to life.

I'm baffled about how Hades adds a whole new dialogue every time I do anything. Kudos to the devs because they really thought about every single combination. Hades is always ready to give out more content to you every way possible. Mechanics, gameplay, story, replayibility, pretty much everything is simply spectacular. Absolute dedication and perfection. 10/10

I want to premise this by saying that the video-game genre I HATE the most is the Roguelite/like. Retrying the same "replayable" area and dying many times, only to gain a small "buff", this is not for me. I hate Roguelites. Hades is my game of the year 2023. The boons feel powerful, the permanent buffs you gain are rewarding, the new weapons completely change how you tackle the game. This game knows how to be addicting, as if it has studying the lacks of its Roguelite peers and learned from them. Sometimes, I think Hades knows what I want and adds it specifically, for me. It's rare that I see this amount of love from the developers over the mechanics of their game, but I never felt something felt unnecessary. It all clicked into place. It's crisp. What REALLY sets it apart from other Roguelites, though? It's a Supergiant Games product. Their stories and narratives make you cry. They know how to mesh the gameplay into a cohesive, rewarding story, and Hades is no different. Following...

Zagreus was devoured by the Titans when they deceived him with mirrors, lights, and sparkling and attractive objects. I always thought that it was a proper metaphor about the glitter of gold and the falsehood of riches. In modern times, I think this metaphor expands to gaming and other media enchantments that are far more dangerous than our shared passion. Anyway, you play Zagreus in Hades. In this game Bastion meets Ovid's Metamorphoses. And since that absolute masterpiece of a game that Bastion is, no game has been as cool and fun and engaging. Up until Hades What a wonderful game, absolutely amazing and a no doubt 10 out of 10 An epic and mythical game for years and years to come. Don't feel overwhelmed by myths. They tell more than it seems.

Extremely fun and rewarding game play loop once you get a hang of the weapon play styles and enemy patterns. Impressive amount of voice lines and difficulty levels to keep playing well into +30 hrs mark without getting stale. Looking forward to the full release of the sequel.

Hades│★★★★★ You’re Zagreus, the prince of the Underworld, trying to escape from your dad’s gloomy house. Every time you think you've got it figured out, something knocks you down. But here’s the thing: dying doesn’t feel like a punishment. You return home, receive a few sarcastic comments from Hypnos, maybe a guilt trip from your dad, share some nectar with your friends, and suddenly you’re laughing and planning your next attempt. The combat is pure adrenaline, fast, fluid, and just chaotic enough. One run, you wield a spear that bursts into lightning thanks to Zeus. The next, you swing a giant blade blessed by Ares, the god of war. Every combination feels unique, and each run tells its own story. And the people in this game? They’re not just characters; they feel real. You start to care about them, notice their quirks, and want to hear what they’ll say next. Even Hades, your grumpy old father, somehow works his way into your heart. The art is gorgeous. Th...

Hades is a good game but a bit overrated. I am quite surprised how highly rated it is for the slog it eventually becomes, everyone must have been bored during the pandemic. Players are forced to complete run after run or choose certain options for a chance to trigger dialogue that advances a story line of their interest. Each complete run takes anywhere from 20 min, if you are lucky, to 40 min with many of my runs at around 30-ish min. Regardless of my thumbs down I am looking forward to Hades 2. TLDR: The game becomes a grind that depends on a bit on randomness for progression. If you are starting out:
it is okay to die a lot when you start, hand out nectar to everyone at least once, and may be check a guide to see who you need interact with so you can progress story lines you are interested in. One of my favorite games of all time. Many other reviewers have said it better. I'm a lifelong gamer, in my 40s, busy with work family& kids, and this is a game that has a story and playstyle that kept me engaged and in love. Looking forward to sharing this with my kids, and, Hades 2. Thanks.

It’s amazing how every time I do something new, the games has a new line for it (since I haven’t played that long I’m sure there’s so much I haven’t seen yet). The art style fits beautifully, and the effects are lovely. Gameplay and mechanics work perfectly, but why can’t I pet all three heads of Cerberus...? ;( Anyway great game would buy again.
