About This Game

The first-ever sequel from Supergiant Games builds on the best aspects of the original god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler in an all-new, action-packed, endlessly replayable experience rooted in the Underworld of Greek myth and its deep connections to the dawn of witchcraft.

BATTLE BEYOND THE UNDERWORLD

As the immortal Princess of the Underworld, you'll explore a bigger, deeper mythic world, vanquishing the forces of the Titan of Time with the full might of Olympus behind you, in a sweeping story that continually unfolds through your every setback and accomplishment.

MASTER WITCHCRAFT AND DARK SORCERY

Infuse your legendary weapons of Night with ancient magick, so that none may stand in your way. Become stronger still with powerful Boons from more than a dozen Olympian gods, from Apollo to Zeus. There are nearly limitless ways to build your abilities.

MINGLE WITH (MORE) GODS, GHOSTS, AND MONSTERS

Meet a cast of dozens of fully-voiced, larger-than-life characters, including plenty of new faces and some old friends. Grow closer to them through a variety of new interactions, and experience countless unique story events based on how your journey unfolds.

EVERY RUN IS ITS OWN ADVENTURE

New locations, challenges, upgrade systems, and surprises await as you delve into the ever-shifting Underworld again and again. Reveal the mysteries of the Arcana Altar, tame witchy familiars, and gather reagents using Tools of the Unseen to get closer to your goal.

THE PERKS OF IMMORTALITY

Thanks to a variety of permanent upgrades and the return of God Mode, you don't have to be a god yourself to experience what Hades II has to offer. But if you happen to be one, you can brave escalating challenges for greater rewards, and prove just how divine you really are.

SIGNATURE SUPERGIANT STYLE

Rich, atmospheric presentation and storytelling fused with responsive action is the hallmark of Supergiant's titles. Vivid new hand-painted environments, even smoother real-time 3D characters, and an electrifying original score make this mythic world burst with life.

BUILT FOR EARLY ACCESS

The original Hades was designed for Early Access from the ground up, and the same is true of Hades II. Player feedback will help shape a number of Major Updates that introduce new features, characters, environments, and more as the game gets closer to completion.

After spending time beating Hades 1 on switch and then re-purchasing it a second time for the Platinum Playstation trophy, Hades 2 is an improvement in almost every way. I'll admit playing it on Early Access had me only playing until I had been drip-fed all of the available content, before turning it off and waiting for updates. However after patch 10, even having experienced everything Hades 2 currently has to offer - it has grabbed my attention the same way the first game did. If you're a fan of roguelike's - I'd recommend playing Hades 1 before experiencing all Hades 2 has to offer. What it does offer is the best that the genre has ever been.

STEAM asks 'Would you recommend this game to other players?' as if not recommended is an option, meaning you may as well grab it early 'cause Hades II is even better than its predecessor, to any degree possible. <3 Supergiant since Bastion, thank you for the awesome games.

This game is just a better version of Hades. Although the main character is not as charming as Zagreus ( Protagonist of Hades ) and overall the cast of characters seem to be less fun to interact with overall (so far, although this might change with the full release), the gameplay and the soundtrack just blows the first game out of the water. Each weapon is really unique and something you will only find in this game. Overall, Hades 2 is just a more polished version of Hades. The less charming cast, although charming still, as compared to Hades 1 is an extremely minor critique of the game and based on my own opinion. The gameplay is extremely fun, the music is great and the bosses are fantastic (yes, every single one of them). The game also looks extremely pretty and visuals are very charming. This game goes down as one of the best (if not the best) single player games I have every played. If you like Hades 1, this is a must. If you haven't played Hades 1, then buy Hades 1 first. ...

Incredible successor to the first entry of the series and full of new Greek mythology characters and story. The gameplay is just as fantastic as Hades 1 and improves on the complexity with several upgrades to the mechanics. Tremendous work by the developers, cant wait to play the V1 ending.

Sequels should take the best parts of the previous game, then make them better. This game does that. If you enjoyed Hades, you will probably love Hades II. The amount I've played so far has all the charm of the first game, and just feels so much better. The controls feel so much smoother, the weapons feel more diverse, and the runs feel even more expansive. In the first game, there were plenty of builds you could do, and in this game it already feels like you can do more and that there are more viable boons across the board. Not only that, but there are some great quality of life additions, that helped reduce some of the frustration I could have with the first game, at times. Another thing that helps with that is that it always feels like you're making progress toward your goal with every run - yet somehow there's always more to do. The first game's God Mode also returns if you're feeling frustrated and want to progress a little more steadily. I've felt that my recent replay of the f...

Hades II feels like a refined version of the first game. The gameplay loop is familiar but smoother, with better polish overall. The main character is decent. Probably less annoying than Zagreus from Hades I, but also less cool or charismatic. The weapon selection is diverse, although some aspects of the same weapon overlap in function. Boons are fun as always, but at the moment (pre-release) the “meta” feels narrow. With the Unseen update, stacking Zeus Blitz and Hephaestus Scorch with their duo boon is basically a guaranteed win on any weapon. Balance changes will likely come later, but right now it feels a bit one-dimensional. My biggest gripe is the learning curve around boons, duo boons, and legendaries. The game doesn’t provide enough in-game information, which forces you to rely heavily on wikis. Even with the Codex, the info is limited since it only appears when you’re selecting a boon and only for that god. This means you need a lot of hours just to build a solid...

Ah, yes, the "My Grandpa's Gonna Beat The Shit Out Of Me", sequel to the successful roguelike "My Dad's Gonna Beat The Shit Out Of Me". It's almost twice as big as Dad's version, which is good for a repetitive game, but I also had to skip twice as much huge, fully voiced dialogues. So much effort were put in writing and voicing all this crap and I don't think there are many people who care what Zeus says the 100th time you pick up his useless blessing. Imagine running through rooms at the speed of light, destroying everything you see, and suddenly a guy appears who wants to talk to you for a whole minute, even though the entire level can be completed in 5–7 minutes. Like no, give me your stupid gift and get out of the way, this is not a visual novel, I bought the game to press buttons and kill my relatives over and over again. Long story short, I wish there was an option to make everyone shut the f up.

This is NOT an Early Access game. This is more complete than 90% of AAA full releases. If you loved Hades 1, you will definitely love even more this one. Better in every single aspect. You can play the game already and the only thing missing is the "end-end game", so you can start advancing the story as the game is now. Cant wait for 1.0 full release!
