Los Sueños

- The LSPD reports a massive upsurge in violent crime across the greater Los Sueños area. Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams have been dispatched to respond to various scenes involving high-risk hostage situations, active bomb threats, barricaded suspects, and other criminal activities. Citizens are being advised to practice caution when traveling the city or to stay at home.

It has been noted that while Los Sueños is still seen as a city where riches can be found, for many more the finer things in life are becoming less and less obtainable. “The city is sprawling with cramped high-rise apartments and decaying affordable housing, which has been exploited by the criminal underground like a malevolent parasite,” states Chief Galo Álvarez. “In a city where people are just trying to survive, lawful action from the LSPD and the LSPD SWAT team remains an integral force preventing the stretched thin social fabric in this city from snapping under this chaotic strain.”

In response to the burgeoning violent crime wave inundating Los Sueños, Chief Álvarez of the LSPD has enlisted the stalwart support of David ‘Judge’ Beaumont as the Commander of the LSPD SWAT team. Shortly following this announcement, the LSPD has also confirmed active recruitment for additional talent to join this specialized tactical police unit with the mission of bringing peace back to the city.

“This assignment is not for the faint of heart,” comments Commander Beaumont, “Extremists, crooked politicians, countless weapons, human trafficking, and illicit drugs and pornography… the world of policing in Los Sueños is fraught with real and harsh realities, realities that the everyday person isn’t necessarily confronted with. These are realities that you will need to navigate with your team within the proper bounds of the law or face the consequences and make matters worse.”

The Los Sueños Policed Department has officially posted new details on Commander “Judge” Beaumont’s updated assignment with the LSPD SWAT team:

New Expectations:

Whether this is your first time in Los Sueños or not, the city has changed and so too have the tools and methods with which we conduct our work. The haunts you might have seen or heard about are re-imagined, and so have the angles with which we approach each call. Furthermore, we’ve received reports that identify at least 4 new high-risk police districts which we suspect may require future tactical intervention, plus at least 4 existing high-risk districts that underwent massive upheavals.

Take Command:

The role of the Commander of the LSPD SWAT is to compose their team from a large roster with unique talents, give tactical orders, meticulously plan, and carry out missions. Commanders are obligated to conduct each mission with integrity and look after their team’s mental and physical health. Officers with unaddressed deteriorating mental status may be unable to properly perform their duties or even feel compelled to quit the force. Incapacitated officers may be temporarily unavailable for missions, with the tragic prospect of death leading to a permanent loss. For SWAT Commanders in unusual circumstances based on individual choices they opt for, deadly mistakes may lead to their own permanent fatality.

SWAT Team Quality Enhancement:

Much anticipated improved SWAT training procedures, tactics, and experience in the LSPD has led to an overall increase in the quality and quantity of officers in our roster. Expanded tactical versatility allows our officers to take on any challenge with renewed confidence, blending coordination and independence seamlessly. There is also additional basic training now available to SWAT members to keep foundational knowledge and muscle memory in top shape.

Equipment and customization:

We have access to the best weapons and equipment that the LSPD can offer to fulfill our exceptionally dangerous role, including many new acquisitions. However, customization isn’t limited to the equipment we use. Through close-knit comradery while performing remarkable actions alongside the team, you’ll earn the clothes you wear, the patches on your sleeves, the artwork that may adorn your skin, and potentially even the timepiece on your wrist. Lastly, we have overhauled our headquarters' training facilities to better test our loadouts before heading out on call.

This game was a gem, I dont care about the censorship, but here is what the game changed without telling the player base: -AI is now completely broken -AI generated content in most mission to replace previous ''offensive'' content. -Downgraded graphics -Broken achivements that unlock even if you don't finish the mission -Enemy John wicks that are invincible -day 1 bugs like enemies stuck in walls, really sucks when trying to do achievements like do the whole game in commander without dying/losing a teammate -Friendlies just downright executing civilians because an enemy is close to them (not a hostage situation) -Friendlies shooting each other or yourself -spawning in a mission and the enemy just commits suicide -spawning in a mission and already getting shot at when the black fade is done -spawning in a mission and enemy walks in their own trap (which kills civilians but not the enemies (they cannot die to traps, what a lazy way to fix your shitty AI) -sound breaks every 3 or 4 games...

STOP CENSORING THINGS BECAUSE CORPS TELL YOU TO. Stand up for yourself devs. Censorship is wrong. DO NOT GIVE INTO IT. (but consoles require-) FINE DO IT FOR CONSOLES. WHY IS THE PC VERSION CENSORED THOUGH!?! Revert and i will change this review. Until then.. DON'T BUY THIS GAME as it supports censorship. (again no matter how small the censorship is, it is wrong. especially for PC ...due to console reasons.. its BS. Let the PC version be uncensored AT LEAST.)

Not realistic at all. Every raid is at the correct address. None of the officers are obese. Entered and stopped a school shooting in progress. Stop human trafficking. Nothing actually police do. But if you have friends to play it with its fun.

This is an extremely painful review for me to make. The game itself is great; a more grounded shooter where your main goal is to defuse situations and only kill if out of options. An extremely immersive experience with a selection of guns and tools to pick from. Due to how heated the situations can get and how fragile you are, it can give you a surprising rush. Unfortunately, to say that the most recent direction the game has taken has been extremely poorly received would be an understatement. Los Sueños Stories, dubbed the "console update" by the playerbase, has seen a long list of negative changes to the game: a graphical downgrade, many of bugs that have yet to be squashed, and several changes meant to censor the game for the console release that, for some unholy reason, have also been included in the PC version. Less gore and nudity is already stupid enough as is, but it does include changing the girl in The Spider from convulsing due to drug overdose to just sleeping all soundly...

I love this game, but the censorship is very hard to ignore. On it's own it is ok but it shows that the devs are willing to censor their game. I still would recommend this game to anyone who wants a truly tactical and realistic game, but the future of this game is uncertain. I just hope that the devs don't censor anything else and maybe add a feature where PC players can go back to the games uncensored state. Anyway I still love this game and would recommend.
TLDR: It was good, the devs ruined it for money (shocker). Go play SWAT 4: Elite Force instead.
Do not recommend. This game had amazing potential which the devs have squandered at every opportunity. I own the Supporter Edition, so unfortunately I have the honor of having paid $120 for a game I think is terrible. Originally touted as a spiritual successor for the SWAT series, it has some of the mechanics and gunplay but the most recent update has gutted not only the grittiness of the original story (which is a completely different paragraph I could write) but more importantly the performance of the game on PC. To be blunt: THIS GAME NOW RUNS LIKE BLENDER FULL OF GRAVEL. If it tells you anything, the game before this last update was twice the size and looked somewhat nice. They neutered the graphics so they would be able to release a sh**ty console port without a version fork; the fancy gaming PC you've spent several thousand dollars on to play in 4k is useless here, you'll...

I do not support forcibly censoring a product when I already purchased and owned the uncensored version. Imagine buying an R rated movie, then someone breaks into your house to replace that movie with a PG-13 cut instead. It does not matter to me if the content was minuscule, devs being allowed to retroactively remove content that was already purchased sets a dangerous precedent in an already uncertain time of digital ownership. This could potentially signal to other dev teams that its totally acceptable to do this, and we could see huge swaths of content removed from other titles with this situation as the instigating event. You need to look no further than Destiny 2 to see that devs will certainly cut out massive chunks of their game without a single care towards those that bought the content, and things like this just show green lights to others. Incredibly lazy move by not implementing a toggle to turn the censor on and off, which would have likely avoided most of the backlash they...
