I CAN recommend this game but take this with a hefty amount of salt: I've seen this game's story change 2-3 times over Early access and the devs seemed to have been very indecisive about where they wanted the story to go. The other big issue is, compared to the early access they completely bleached the weapon and ship customization making it much more streamlined and "direct" in a meh way. The customization used to allow various weapon parts to actually change gun performance over all, and it's current state is that all it changes is firerate, crit dmg, damage, mag size and reload speed... the ships are just generic "upgrade" bars that change how it looks and makes number go up. Like weapons you used to be able to exhange components and kinda build your own ship. Not to mention they cut out a lot of previous resources. The final gripe is, for a game highlighting ship combat... the light bit is true, there isn't a whole lot of ship combat, its more of a "slight inconvenience" to fight...

Probably one of the best Experiences I had. I am recently getting into this style of gamely after years of Strategy Game binging. The trailer doesn't like. The Game play experience is restoring order to the region against rapid pirates and uncovering the Purple bug thing. The game is very free roam and you conquer territory and deal with events but there is a story line and side quest that you discover. It's both fast pace, violent and zen like as the art is very well done and no disruption from Bugs. I have not found a bug yet. It's not a TRPG, it's combat focused. It's a top down shooter and airship sailor with no boundary between them. You can walk around your airship and shoot enemies if you want to or bombard islands with your airship.

I've had this game sitting in my backlog for months, and finally got around to starting it. Delighted to find that it's quite good! I knew I was enjoying myself when I started my first play session, said to myself "I'll just mess around a little, see what this game is like", and then 3 hours went by without me even realizing it. The airship controls are a bit fiddly at times, and I find the top down perspective a little constraining, but overall it's a fun little adventure with a great deal of freedom and a solid sense of exploration. Will definitely be playing more of this one.

Wonderful game. The perfect mix of art and fun. Combat isn't merciless and offers a pretty high skill ceiling for what it is. The story is really neat, I do enjoy the changes from its BETA/EA days; but I will say that your dialogue choices rarely, if ever, seem to matter. Not a deal breaker, but to some that may be an issue. World building is pretty solid and makes me want to explore the world more. Overall: Fun, cute, has room for skill expression, and has a lot of depth that one may not expect from a title like this. 9/10

the new streamlined progression of ship parts turned me off so much, i liked the old system way better. you could strategize which parts of the ship you could upgrade, along with their costs and downsides. it was one of my favourite parts of the game, sad to see it was gutted

Amazing, loved the story, the combat is repetitive but at the same time always enjoyable both on and off the airship. Hope the dev team creates another masterpiece like Black Skylands, maybe even a sequel or spinoff

A very good twin stick shooter RPG. For some reason I didn't fullly grasp the fact that this was going to be a perfect hybrid of twin stick shooting and rpg through the marketing... and I was very pleased to come to understand that it nails that intersection. a very pleasant playthrough 8/10 my review scale : anything below 5/10 is bad - 6 /10 = fine - 7/10 = good - 8/10 = exactly what it's trying to be - 9/10 excellent - 10/10 perfect - 11/10 they went above and beyond - 12/10 keeps finding new levels of incredible -13/10 revolutionary stuff
