This game is more of an early alpha than a game - it lacks substance. The trailer gives the impression of something much more comprehensive but the mechanics it boasts are shallow. "Farming" is simply planting a seed, watering it and then immediately picking up the produce. "Crafting" is just one NPC who offers 5 different items in exchange for materials. "Mini games" is one arcade game that gives you nothing and one wheel of fortune that always seems to give me a hat. "Sailing" is limited to one game screen and doesn't take you anywhere interesting. "Fishing" is fishing for 3 types of fish and one treasure chest that I don't think was beta tested because it is impossible to fish due to game mechanics. Most NPCs are shops and there is no story or goal. By alpha version standards, the game shows quite a lot of potential. By finished version standard, it's aimless and empty.

User Reviews
Hope for City is a fun small JRPG for pocket change. This game has no clear direction, but you can do whatever you want. There is neither a tutorial nor a manual for this game, you can learn it all by talking to NPCs. Overall, this game is great for hanging out on your own. Plus, you can enjoy the game's Engrish.
The ONLY thing this game has going for it is that it's colorful and looks nice. That's it. The gameplay and world is so boring and meaningless, and this is clearly unfinished. The promises of survival, farming, crafting, fishing, and mini games are dishonest and misleading; they're the most shallow versions the developer could think up. There is nothing to this game. I work for a game development company and I know what "alpha means"; calling this game an "alpha" would be generous. It's empty. Seriously, don't bother.
A fantastic game for $2.29
When I first played this game it looks good, like the maps itself is attractive. Although the gameplay for me is not that great, I'll try playing it again when I have the time. I might haven't explored the whole game.
Don't waste your time with this lame attempt at making an rpg maker game.
