I've been waiting for 1KD's full release ever since I first tried the demo. As soon as it became available, I snapped it up and played through all 12 storylines in one 4 hour long gaming session. I enjoy speedrunning, so I'm currently in the process of trying to get platinum times for the 47 arcade levels -- it 's going to be extremely challenging! There's a lot to love. I'm sure other reviews will mention the vibrant colours and psychedelic art -- it's definitely reminiscent of (and compares favourably to) titles like Psychonauts, or even the original Crash Bandicoot for the PS1. The soundtrack is fantastic. The level design, in particular, really stands out. Several levels have multiple very different (and unique) pathways for completion, and it's very satisfying when you uncover something new. The impossible geometries on display often made me think of MC Escher's artwork. I think the story mode will be a little hit-or-miss for people. It is split up into 3 independent episodes. I...

User Reviews
If you enjoy games like Psychonauts then 1000 Deaths is perfect for you. Fun platformer with a very slick cartoony world and atmosphere. It feels like something out of the early Cartoon Network era and is a trippy ride that you wont want to get off of!
ever since playing the demo, I've been obsessed with this game. I'm so glad it's finally here, and it hasn't disappointed thus far. The psychedelics graphics are super cool, coupled with the soundtrack, it feels like you're playing something straight out of MTV. Some of the platforming are a bit too hard for me, but he trial and error are worth it when you unlock a new path. The story is also super heartfelt and will make you question your entire life. I will gut you at moments, which it makes it feel like more than just a game.
1000 Deaths is a very unique platformer - I love the colorful, wacky art style, and the controls remind me of something similar to Mario Galaxy, which is one of my favorite games! I can't wait to play more!
This game is a surreal blend of Mario galaxy and psychonauts. The visuals and story are weird yet enjoyable where your choices end up leading to wacky consequences. After each level I had fun trying to guess what path my characters would go down. I kept wanting to complete levels to see what happened next and I'm probably going to go back and make different choices to see what weird stuff would happen
Fun platformer with a surprisingly large scope. Gameplay feels like a challenging Mario Galaxy, while the style is like a wild mix of ToeJam & Earl and late-’90s Nickelodeon. Features interesting characters in a unique, imaginative world.
The creative levels and gravity changing make this delightfully tricky
A fun-to-look-at (and actually challenging!) platformer that goes way beyond that label thanks to a uniquely trippy narrative component. Great visuals, great music, legit replay-ability.
1000 Deaths was unlike anything I've played, the trippy visuals were so unique. The world is so different that you just keep playing to learn more about this wacky world and characters. I highly recommend anyone check this game out even if you're not a fan of 3D platformers, just for something so unique that I've never seen before.
As a 3D platformer fan, 1000 Deaths is a nice twist on the genre! Its visuals give a nice 90s throwback feel and I'd highly recommend everyone check it out!
