A solid souls-like. I'm a huge fan of the graphics. The game plays very well, very much like, once again, Dark Souls, in a 3/4 down view. Weapons take time to swing, there is a heavy emphasis on stamina and dodging. Much simpler with stats than DS, you just kind of spec the way you like, find your weapon, find your groove. I haven't completely finished the game yet, but I have played a pretty good chunk of it so far, and it's a good game overall. No regrets here.

I was drawn to Morbid: The Seven Acolytes by its dark, grotesque art style, which does a great job of setting a grim atmosphere. Unfortunately, the gameplay didn’t live up to that initial intrigue for me. The core issue lies in the combat. The player character moves at such a sluggish pace that sprinting feels less like an option and more like a requirement just to get anywhere. Encounters quickly become repetitive: strike once, dodge away, repeat. This pattern is consistent across nearly every fight, with only bosses demanding slightly more patience and dodging before an opening presents itself. While this does create a deliberate, weighty pace, I personally found it slow and unappealing. On top of that, there’s needless inventory management. Finding new weapons is exciting at first, but each one requires physically making sure there’s space in your inventory to pick it up. Slots quickly get clogged with consumables, forcing constant juggling. While there is a stash available ...

I finally finished the game after 20 hours. Morbid: The Seven Acolytes is a 2D Top Down Souls-like game with a special mechanic that doesn't explained well by the developers, it's the Sanity system. Long story short, if your character has low Sanity, exp gain, and damage you dealt to enemies are all increased. Story - The game follows the plot with the main protagonist with no name, known as the last surviving Striver of Dibrom, a warrior clan trained to hunt down and slay the Seven Acolytes, each possessed by evil deities known as Gahars. As a Striver, you journey to slay the 7 Acolytes. Gameplay - Combat - The game is presented in a top-down 2D gameplay style, so you'll attack the enemies mostly diagonally or horizontally. The game has a weird weapon swinging animation that shows you where your weapons are supposed to hit, but in the end it doesn't. Disappointing. - It takes a lot getting used to with the player's hit detection system. The hit box of the weapon...
