might be a fun game if it ever gets finished as is its pretty empty. 5 years in early access and nothing but pet updates..... starting to feel like a lot of other games just trying to sell you what will never be a finished product.

Honestly, at almost 200 hours I will say I love this game. But what really keeps me playing is the small attention to details. Please continue to put small details in the game, such as the food changing when customers order or the drinks (some don't change but eh, I love it regardless) and it actually shows what they order as they eat. I have never played a pixel game as far as management that is so detailed. I want you guys to continue this. Yes for now this is a mindless grind and it does lack events but me personally. I love a mindless management game or one that you have to think about because you can tell where they put though and work into. The loading screen icon, the animals (Please I need a hamsterball in my Tavern rolling around) or the dog. Fishing and everything else, honestly if this is a restaurant/chef management I would never stop playing. Anyways, love this game and sorry for the TLDR.

Game starts nice, but after a few hours it gets repetitive and you start running in circles.

My Honest Recommendation for Travellers Rest (Early Access) Even though Travellers Rest is still in Early Access β€” and has been for over five years β€” I genuinely enjoy it and recommend it, especially if you appreciate games that combine farming, crafting, and management with a clear purpose. What really sets it apart from similar games like Stardew Valley is the meaning behind your actions. You're not just growing crops or fishing to sell for money or to fulfill quests β€” you're doing it for your tavern. Every action, whether it's harvesting, cooking, brewing, or decorating, ties into running and upgrading your own inn. That purpose makes the gameplay loop more satisfying and personal. Yes, I admit that there's only about half the content I’d like to see in a game like this β€” and that I even had moments when I didn’t like it as much. But I still have over 46 hours in the game and didn’t refund it, because I see real potential, and more importantly: I respect the direct...

It started as a fun, simple tavern management and crafting game, Since then, updates have been consistent and completely over-complicated a once great system.

I've had this game for years now... Honestly the gameplay is pretty nice, and you can easily spend an hour or three lost in the management of your tavern. The issue is that there has been barely any progression added to the game by the development team. once you've completed the tutorial, your play time is narrowed to decorating, cooking, and assisting your staff when they go on breaks. Where is the story? Where is the Lore? Where is the endgame goals? I think once the development team is able to at least get a couple chapters rolled out I would recommend it, but right now its best not to pay your money for it.

I tried to play it, but it is just too much. My three biggest gripes are: - Everything takes time - The "Zone" System of "Woodwork, Stonework, Metalwork" is just annoying and produces long walking times in the beginning - The controls are very badly designed. On controller you can approve things with the same interact button, with mouse and Keyboard I have to interact with E and approve with my mouse? Why can't I just press E again? Are you mad? All I wanted was to brew beer and be a Tavernkeep, and you make me produce wood planks and Iron Bars? wtf does this game even want to be? It's like it wants to be Stardew 2.0 so bad, tries to make it "even bigger" and goes about it all the wrong ways. I gave it a fair hour and the gameplay part of that was "lots of walking in a way too big map", and "preparing beer to put it into aging barrels". That's how far I got. I didn't even get to serve my own beer in that hour. I wanted to be a tavernkeeper, the game wouldn't let me. That just...

A super cozy game that keeps adding more and more! I'm excited for more storyline but in the meantime I love the pets and making all the different food. Bonus points that the fishing is easier than Stardew Valley too!

I have mixed opinions tbh like on one hand it starts off as fun, the game has so many dimensions; you have to gather sources, craft material, buy seeds, grow your ingredients, produce your own drinks, gather recipes, manage your tavern, hire staff etc. etc. butttt thats also the problem with the game, like there are too many things you have to do! after sometime I felt like I wasnt gaming but actually working because my brain was getting fried like I am on my shift or something. Especially this type of games are supposed to be more chill imo. as the game gets more complex and you start leveling up and there comes more stuff to do more recipes and more required ingredients you start just getting tired. like I was so into the game until my last session where I felt my battery just die and there is a high possibility that I wont touch this game ever again even though I invested already 17 hours on it. Also some stuff are bugged like sometimes the game just crashes. also the control are a ...
