[h1]Review:[/h1] Witch Queen is an artistic RTS that will be immediately familiar to people remotely familiar with the genre because of its basic gameplay loop (build base and defense, gather resources, build units, fight enemies until they die). Don't let the word 'lightweight' in the description fool you, this game possessed enough complexity to be considered a real RTS, not a game only for casual; EDIT: though by design, it is still fairly fast since you don't need builder, then again so does Command and Conquer series. It also have a lot of focus on the the story with very large campaign map. There are multiple factions and heroes units, all of which distinct enough to give each faction some unique flavor. The art are also pretty great. The game can be janky at times with units having problem moving in a fight when it is moving toward the target you tell it to go to and sometimes translation errors, but nothing too frustrating. Too cheap! Visually beautiful. The dev spent a lot of his time on making this thing look good, it has a decidedly specific art style which it never leaves behind. The story is hard to follow - English translation - but the gist of it is quite fun. Good things: + Freaky but consistent art style. + Beautiful effects. + Powerful hero abilities. + Competent base building, and resource management. + Capable and dangerous ( but sometimes stupid ) enemy AI. + INVENTUS Bad things: My main gripe with it, is it's gameplay flaws which are: + Each chapter resets THE ENTIRE MAP!??!?! WHY? Each time I get to a new chapter, I have to start all over again building my base, army. In Chapter 2 I had to freaking well RECONQUER the enemy I already conquered in chapter 1. WHY? ( I have to assume this is some kind of bug, it's utterly frustrating. ) + Units don't auto attack enemies nearby. + Units don't reliably attack. + Units can - rarely - get caught in the terrain.
