While obviously a step forward, and with much better graphics, the game still leaves too much than that it would be enjoyable: - There still is no soundtrack - The world feels lifeless, as there is nothing than walls and ground - There is no information or tooltips ingame - The UI is bad - The tutorial is VERY basic - There is no story or campaign - Most important of all: The battles are - very- boring: Both players heal, silence and disable their creatures all the time, so that the simplest of battles take forever. To make things even worse, the available mana increases every turn, and players cannot replace weak creatures on the board, so that an early advantage means nothing, and it comes to stale boards with weak creatures very fast... There still is good potential in the formula, but it obviously needs a lot of polish and refinement to work...

In Mazes and Mages 2 you have to find your way in random mazes and play card duels against enemies.
You create a random maze, choosing a rank, difficulty, and mode (casual or hardcore) for it. Each randomly generated maze has 5 levels.
By defeating enemies and picking up chests you get cards and items, which you use to make your deck stronger.
When you defeat the boss at the end of the maze, the next rank becomes available, with stronger cards and items. There are 20 ranks.

I finished the game in the same day but it was fun. There is also endless mode after finishing but I guess it's not for me. Not as rewarding as the campaign.
