About This Game

REMOTE LIFE is a 2D Side scrolling space shooter for PC (Shmup) that can be played with Gamepad (Twin Stick), or with Keyboard & Mouse.
The Graphics are huge 3D pre-rendered sprites and are gorgeously animated. It is full of cool menacing Monsters. The backgrounds look fantastic and fit perfectly to the Alien world. The Bosses look so infinity creepy and scary that the cg-artist had to design them with closed eyes ;).
There are an immense number of weapons. You are surrounded by such a Brutal-Frenetic-Sci-Fi-Techno-Alien World that is so brilliantly credible that you can almost smell the gasses that the aliens create when you blast them off. The soundtrack fits perfectly to the theme and the pace of the game. This game is is a full immersion in an unseen world.

I have no idea why the sidescrolling sc-fi shoot 'em up REMOTE LIFE at this point of writing has a 90% positve rating besides the fact that the game game looks gorgeous because gameplay wise this is at max average and that would propably also be too generous in my view. The gameplay is slow and stale and the levels are far too condensed to really make it an enjoyable shoot 'em up experience. The player will have to fly through slim coridors infested with alien organismns while shooting blocks and enemies comming your way while waiting for doors to open so you can pass through and this mechanic simply slows the game down. Ive played a lot of shoot 'em ups and bullethells since the mid to late 1980ies and im not impressed by the game itself. I bought this game at a 75% discount at 3.99 euros but allready after a few minutes i was starting to contemplate demanding a rare refund of mine but as i do recognize that this indie dev actually has put a lot of effort into it and made an extremel...

Cool aesthetics, sound design and music. Clever level layouts and game play. But for the life of me, I cannot understand why the developer neglected to add a simple Pause feature in the game. You simply cannot pause the game at any time. For that reason, I cannot recommend the game at this point in time.

I’ve been waiting for this game to come out for a long time and let me tell you or was worth the wait !! Graphics : 10/10 Insanely detailed. Smooth animations and crisp edges, perfect hit detection. The enemies look amazing, scary, gross, the shaders bring the game to life. The frame rate was 60fps + on maximum settings on my 1080ti Gameplay : 10/10 This is a classic side scrolling shooter in the vein of R-type. You can acquire multiple weapons and switch between them at will. Just like all the old side shooters do NOT touch anything or you will die. You get three “hearts” to start and if you’re a good pilot can collect more along the way. The game is HARD even on easy mode, not unfair though so you can develop skill over time and get better. Replay ability : 8/10 there are 17 levels which are all diverse and have multitudes if different enemies and weapons. There are multiple unlockables and other goodies to get by doing better at the game and extra ships to unlock. The...

Remote Life is a surprisingly good hybrid between a shoot'em up and a twin stick shooter. Graphics and level-design are excellent, and there's a huge variety in enemies, bosses, weapons and mission types. An interesting design choice is that enemies and enemy bullets can go through every wall and object, while your own bullets and ship can't. It took me a while to get used to this, but in the later (more complex) levels, the devs use this to create some clever challenges. Shaped as narrow mazes with lots of moving parts, these levels are sublime and remind me of games like R-type from my youth. Another part of the game that I enjoyed are the escort missions, where you have to protect a huge vehicle against enemy attacks. And in certain levels you can enter huge attack structures yourself, to blast everything you encounter in a thousand pieces. My compliments to the devs for creating such a wonderful game. I really hope it gets the success it deserves.

This is the most Amazing, Original & Awesome Shoot Em Up I have ever played, I have been following this game for quite a long time..The wait is finally over with superb positive results, far higher than my expectations. This game feels like its from another dimension...Theirs lots of great side scrollers out there, but this one REMOTE LIFE as got everything & much more, the graphics & the detail is incredible also everything you click on before you even start to play the game, the Art work is beyond Awesomeness. :) Great Controls, i'm using keyboard which is easy to use Arrow Keys to move the ship & mouse to control your fire range aim which is a red target on screen, you can rotate around your ship, left mouse button to fire, middle wheel to choose weapons, right button to use secondary weapons. :) joy-pad support which is XBOX Control Pad. How cool is this you can even control your ship & rotate the weapons in the background at the same time which you will come across, s...

This has been stuck on my wish now for a while, but had a email to say its released now. So thought why not go on YouTube and see if any reviews were about, and there was.so I jumped the demo and bought the full game, which I was not disappointed as well. 😁 This game is awesome and reminds me of Menace in some ways on the old Amiga, but most of all it reminds me of R-Type. That's because of the art style of the graphics and the game pacing is like that game and level designs. Its got lots of awesome game mechanics like the fact you can shoot 360 degrees and with lots of different types of weapons, and a secondery weapons to. So for the cost of the game and what your getting in content its a must buy for shoot em up arcade fans, and 16 levels which is a very long campaign as well. So from my fairly short review give the 1 level demo a go first, which includes a training level as well. Iam sure you won't go wanting to get the full game. 😊

First impression The first thing you'll notice is the game looks beautiful, it's a 2d horizontal shmup but all the graphics and animations are 3d rendered. The art style looks like it could have been by inspired by HR Giger but it's a lot creepier. What stands out as well is that it's a twin stick shooter. It may look a bit unusual with all weapons coming from one point in front of the ship but it works well. It allows for the game to bombard you with enemies coming from all directions even while you're manouvering through tight tunnels and obstacles. Levels There are 17 levels which are called missions including two exploration missions with maps. The regular missions all have different themes, enemies and bosses. Some also have turrets and a huge spaceship you can use. Scoring There's no scoring. This did make me think twice before buying the game because when you like a certain shmup it's fun to battle for a place in the top of the leaderboard. However not hav...

Great retro shooting fun, beautiful graphics and nice creepy analog sounding synth music. Gameplay is great! Hard as F though! Not the best loading time, but it's ok. Gradius, R-Type feel.

A 2D side-scrolling space shmup with light progression mechanics. It looks good, but the shooting just isn't very fun. You have three powerups and that's about it. I'd rather play Jets'n'Guns.

In my opinion when developers started giving players unlimited lives, they removed much of the thrill/challenge of playing computer games. This game does not make that mistake, and because lives are limited, and the player knows he may lose everything at any moment, it can at times be genuinely exhilarating, a real battle to cling on, and just survive! It is a pure game of nerves at times, where if you manage to remain calm you might just make it, and if you panic, you can end up going from three lives, to zero in a matter of seconds, literally screaming at the screen! The artwork, is both beautiful and roach-like disgusting, dark and deeply insidious one minute and brightly psychedelic and gorgeous the next, with mesmerizingly intricate visuals reminiscent of hyperspace. This game has everything I look for in a game these days. Fantastic satisfying gameplay/combat that presents an old-school level of challenge and keeps me coming back for more. Highly addictive and brilliant. A...
